You get more than your fair share of wind n empty beaches, something has to go wrong every now n then.

Good luck with the trip.

That problem is not the women. The problem is the men not being man enough to put their foot down and state they are going on a man trip.....

I suggest your men need to take a concrete suppository and harder the f#$k up from the inside out.

The problem isn't the woman behind the man. I reckon' it's that your mates don't know how to tell you that you fart in your sleep and don't want to be stuck in the same room as you for a week.

Hey Plummett, did you run that post by your wife? She might not like it if she sees it

Haha.... The missis has zero interest in what I post on kite forums.

But a man needs his man weekends every now and then. I take 4 per year and think that's fair.

I think it is teaspoon of cement, not a cement object inserted in the bum. But whatever floats ya boat. If caunce suggested the latter for his boy's trip he'd get a lot less replies

Then you basically point out if you spend all your free time and money kiting (or any activity) you'll be a better husband and father who is less likely to stray. Has to go both ways though

My wife and i have friends whose husbands have had an affair and honestly not one of them has a hobby or interest.

It goes both ways, it's exactly the same reason why most wives have an affair. When asked why, most usually just say it was because they were bored and it was a rush, a good percentage of the time the person isn't any more attractive or well off etc... Thus, Boardsports help to maintain a healthy relationship. Ok I'm off to the beach honey!

well Cauncy, surely you remember that beer ad. where the guy speaks woman, needs time with his emotional support group to reinvigorate his soul so he can love her better.
Something along those lines anyway.

Used it on the ex, worked a treat

Hate to be serious on a Saturday night but it's not that hard boys!
Let her know what you wanna do with a bit of advance notice. Be nice to her before and after. Give her some me time away from kids or responsibilities...

My brides a cracker, I do a lot of work inland , she,ll phone with a wind report, she's getting pretty good at knowing wind strength now,
Never has she said nah your not kiting or put a time limit on me, it's a mutual thing, I've never said you carnt go suping or put a time limit on her, maybe I'm lucky as there's some hitler housewifes around, I'd be gone if my wife was like that

Never ask a question that is not the reply you want. Why do they ask in the first place. Just go! Educate your mates!

Cauncy....You have to make the effort around your mates wives. If you pay them compliments every time you see them, ask them how they are going etc
Then when the time comes your mates can do a little tap dancing too with ( Cauncy wants to go on a little kite trip but his misses wont let him go alone ) She will let him go and all is good.

Yep. I'm loud and proud about going on man weekends and doing manly things!!!

Went to Queenstown and rode mountain bikes for 6 days in Feb. That was insane!.... Just got back from the blue balls kite buggy bash. 30-40+ knots of madness kitebuggying and kitesurfing. Yeha!....

I've got 2 more trips to go for the year.

5 day moose meet camping in sand dunes 100km from nowhere all there is to do is kite, talk ****, kite, bbq some meat, kite some more...... oh yeah! and one more weekend mountain biking that's yet to be defined.

Men need to do these things or they slowly die inside and become a cold dead husk of their former selves!!!.

The only way to keep her happy is to take her on a holiday first !! This will free you up for your trip it's like a game if you do something for yourself it's like they have to do something in return to even it out .
My misses is my high school sweet heart I'm 37 now.I have had some practice on this subject and kitesurfing has really tested our relationship. If I take her out a couple of nights a week and give little presants everynow and then it all seems to work out .
Remember its an age old battle if he gets to have fun why can't I says the women and that's where it all stems from .

Sounds like you've got it well sorted.
Just as long as your mates aren't "looking after her" while you're having a good time.
Just sayin'.

What's the saying. Behind every good man there's a good woman, not seeing too much evidence, still no reply from the boys yet, I reckon they are wasting their time coming up with some far out bull****z excuse , instead of telling the missus I'm going away for a few days with the lads, now I'd understand if they said I'm going to Amsterdam with the lads and pack their best party gear but c'mon a wetsuit and a bucket hat isn't trapping the chicks clothes, what really does me in is the blokes are the bread winners and give their wives a pretty good life, so having a few days away isn't a biggy, and why do you have to bribe or dine your partner into letting you have a few days away , if she's a good,n she wouldn't mind, if my wife went away for a few days I'm certainly not the one to tell her she carnt

If no one has got back to you..... Perhaps your proposed trip is a) not worthy or b) really bad timing.

Some of my man trips never get off the ground as timing can never be agreed on. Though, all my buddies have young kids too. So its more than just juggling the missis needs its also choosing weekend that fits around kids parties, sports competitions etc,

Another idea is to widen the pool of dudes offered to go. For my mtb man weekends we have a group of 10 or so that we call on. 4-6 of them usually commit.

Here's a formula your buddies can apply.

A = P+(N+W+2)-F(D-1)

A= acceptance
P= Permission asked
N= number of toys (in this instance man weekends)
W= Something for wife
F= Forgiveness sort
D = Divorce.

So how does it work? You can either ask permission or do it without permission and seek forgivness...

So... Asking permission cancels out seeking forgiveness. Getting something for wife cancels out divorce as long as something for wife is = in emotional value to N.

Get it?

If you do not ask permission then W has to double to off set -F.........................

Confused? you should be.

I assume my brother in law is about to book a snowboarding trip to NZ...

Yesterday he bought home flowers, cleaned the house, made (store bought!) dinner and watched her favourite tv shows all night

Where are you actually planning to go Cauncy?
