Jump must of gone the Wong Wong way altogether. Poor chick even a 60kg person mid air barreling at her would be enough to boil the rice. Although in all fairness this area with a foot path does sound like a good spot for some hard core show boating.
Regarding the ambos my opinion would be that it is completely up to the couple. If it was be I would not be accepting ambos if I had the car and Missus was conscious and complaining ( she does that almost date )
Future reference google translate is epic for one of them situations. Screen shots could also be taken to document times ect.
Everyone's harping on about the chick but was the kiter ok and his gear ? Did the caranage Carry on after the accident being skull dragged along ? Poor fellas probably in a thin glass case of emotion.
You are barking on the wrong tree...
If the head was split open, than her husband would agree to call in. Same if the leg was cut in half.
Did I write head injuries? Read again. Was she unconscious?
She was in the hospital in 10 mins. Which is 1.5km away. You well know where Charlies is.
Way faster than an ambulance, with their 16 mins average time and possibly someone in a bigger need for it.
Last time when the guy broke both his ankles on Woodies, the ambulance could not find them. They went back.second one come after 1 hr....Enough said.
i suggest you to break something on a beach and hope they will find you. This is not an house number, or a car crash with police everywhere.
While on it, do you have a KSA insurance? No? Well than. Who will cover the expenses than?
Will you offer to pay when calling for a service? Yes, no?
That's the point, he is liable he has to cover her expenses. I believe everyone there just trying to cover for him. If I'm barking at the wrong tree then prove me wrong, will this kiter assume fault and try to at least cover for her expenses?
Yes, I do have insurance, if he doesn't and he is liable his fault.
I wasn't replying to you.
No one is covering anyone. Ask him, its easy to find who someone is.
My name is clearly written here.
Well I hope the offender gets told to stop being a show off and jump further away from people. Gladly no one got killed.
I actually thought that he killed her and broke his back on impact.
Unfortunately, people will continue to jump and we have no means to stop that.
Thus, I call WAKSA to place the sign or do whatever is needed to minimize the risk to innocent people.
It's not any organisation's responsibility to stop people being ****ing dumb. What happened to personal accountability?
I just want to add a small but significant piece that may assist.
An APP called 'Emergency +'. It gives you a lat/long that the 000 operator can use if you can't use street names.

Play Skool's over Jemima, time to go to bed.
The only valid discussion is how to proceed from here.
Well stated. I'm not familiar with the spot but agree that buoys may be a good first step. Perhaps some kind of jump apparatus in water before the buoys could attract the acrobatic types to jump farther from shore?
A similar situation is also now occurring at Augusta, with the river opening up outside the colour patch it has become show boat central with a few geniuses today jumping very close to the public on the small timber walkway, grassed area and kids playground. I saw one kiter crash and kite almost landed on the tree near the playground before the kiter regained control.
Please don't launch, fly or jump your kite close to the public, they may appear to you to be adoring spectators frothing over whatever trick you're executing to perfection...but they'd probably be there if you and your kite weren't and they'll be much safer if you kite some distance away.
Can I just throw some extra gristle to the mill.
Knowing the guy who crashed, he is a bloody friendly nice guy, not someone who show boats, and always quick to help a newbie and say hi. And one of the better kites Ive ever seen. Super competent, and typically pretty cautious.
I have no doubt he'd be going through a truck load of mental anguish himself.
No-one wants to have an accident, somethings just happen.
Let's not crucify a guy who'd be suffering already. We've all made mistakes, let's jsut try to learn from it.

Thanks granddad
I'm not convinced a little yellow bouy will keep kamikaze kid from clearing the path of whole families of tourists in the future.

Are you confessing? is this one of those "I have a friend" things?
I'm not convinced a little yellow bouy will keep kamikaze kid from clearing the path of whole families of tourists in the future.
There are at least 4 BIG yellow bouy's separating the Marine estuary, with clear picture "no kiting". Most ppl are keeping distance.
The bouy might not work 100%, but we can at least point to it when needed. It should clearly indicate that with some authority. The problem is not a small jump or jump downwind from the footpath.
The problem is a jump over 2-3m upwind from the footpath. That is where the bouy should be placed.
I never ever jump upwind from any bouy's. Wrapping the lines around is no mean feat.

Correct. They fixed one thing and introduced another. I would not be surprised of someone ends up on a swing in that playground.
To many people here are trying to make the point.
As always.

If you have some thoughts about that, lets hear it.
I suggested a bouy with a graphic and waksa/ksa involvement.
It might not stop everyone, but at least something to point to.
Unfortunately dbabicwa I don't think that putting a few bouys and signs around the place will be a consideration after the council is sued for millions after this serious accident. They will cover their ass the best they can.
Not sure if council has to do with anything?
This is the KSA/WAKSA issue and the prevention is a key.
One would hope the road signs sometimes work. The Stop sign at least.
Or the sign with a Warning to spectators. No?
Still no any other suggestions. Ah well...
Ummm,
you guys understand that this is a Marine Sanctuary under the Department of environment and conservation?
Local Council cant mow the lawn there even if they want.
Local council cant even patrol the parking there.
Sorry. I am tired of this. If someone has solution, you know where to find me. Email also works.
thanks

Just to let you know, just about all of what you said just there is completely incorrect.
If you want something installed in proximity to the carpark, it's city of perth council or swan river trust you'll need to speak to. Dept of environment and conservation won't give two hoots about it.
perhaps some sort of addition to the sign at the rigging area, stating not to get too close to the shore line unless launching/landing. In the end though, youre not going to stop all of the show ponies. I just really hope we don't all get banned from the point.
Checked with Charlie's and RPH today.
Charlies had no record of a "Chinese" woman coming in on Saturday arvo by car with a broken leg, and the closest RPH had was a 27yo Thai woman with facial injuries who had been discharged.

So you are saying that "city of perth council" we need to speak to, and I said "local council" which is Subiaco council?
And " just about all of what you said just there is completely incorrect. "?????
Which one is it than? :) Perth or Subi or neither to put the buoy ON THE RIVER!
"the sign at the rigging area" - you really think someone is reading this? And I am wrong in just about anything.
LOL.
Doing the right thing - and looking after the innocent bystanders medical bills is what matters most here...
Start fobbing her off and you can gurantee the council will read this and ban the Kitesurfing side completely..
Jeez what a funked up attitude.
If it was your family - you be screaming like a $10 meth whore.

You don't have much idea I am afraid buddy.
