Actually the Policeman gave her a warning initially, took her details and said dont do it again.
She came home relieved, took her helmet out and used it since. A few days later the fine came through. My point is that a $71 fine wouldve done the job.
How would someone unemployed or on minimum wage pay $320? Not everyone is as cashed up as some of you blokes.

some poor ****a got killed in a bike accident other day, which has had me thinking, and hear me out till you flip your ****
if i am driving along and i have 2 choices to hit a cyclist to left of me and avoid a collision with a car or hit the car comeing at me im probably going to verge off the road and collect the cyclist on the way...in an instinctive self preservation sense.
so i was thinking about this and where the bike lanes are located where the car lanes are located and i started thinking wouldnt it be ****ing great if we could veer off the road and not hit a cyclist.... but how do we do that? well
i honestly believe if we change ALLLLLLLL our god damned roads and put the bike lanes in the CENTER of the road itll solve that entire conundrum now when a vehicles swaying or veering at you when your driving along you can just safely veer off the road onto the left and just clean up grandma with her terrier or something and that veering cars gotto get thru 2 bikes first worst case scenario of course. but i think it would solve the problem of this whole being squished between a cyclist who is invincible in his little world and a car thats just trying to ****ing get around a parked car and then theres you wizzing around in your 1 tonne death machine at 60kph.
in this situation with bikelanes in middle the oncomeing car getting around the parked vehicle would just go into his bike lane and not effect anyone or at worst make the cyclist on my side road verge a little into my lane and i would have the whole world between me and the snouzer to drift into
and they wont have to worry about people opening car doors when theyre parked anymore win win right?
