Whoever is the president of the United States has very little effect on the average American let alone the average Australian. Thankfully.

All depends on how close you are to our Prime Minister of the time and whether the spit or swallow

It means nothing. All I know is that when I am on the water, I am in my own paradise and nobody in the world has any impact on that, regardless of their wealth, status, or political position. You hear someone brag about this or that, how rich they are, what connections they have, or company position they hold, and just think to yourself "but you don't sail....you poor b&st&rd, you've no idea what you are missing out on and how useless all the cr&p you are going on about really is."

I honestly believe that if every world leader learnt to sail or surf, we'd have world peace overnight.

I'm going to miss all that Trumptardery coming at us so fast it was hard to keep up with. He's enriched the gagosphere enormously. All the comedians, social commentators and those people who get outraged on our behalf are going to miss him.

I may go into withdrawal but I have a bottle of Glenfiddich to celebrate the immanent return of normalcy and the persistence of democracy. (Glenfiddich because Donald banned it from all his outlets when their Scot of the Year Award went to Michael Forbes, the bloke who refused to sell his farm to Donald. Also it's not a bad drop.)

Edit to add: I look forward to some serious climate intervention too in the near future.

Was there more war or less war than usual under Trump's leadership.

In Politico's survey....... "Americans are split on what's holding us back as a country," the report said. "Trump voters believe it's the media. Biden voters believe it's our leaders."

...so says a media report about the leaders.

Since votes in USA are split fifty fifty among republicans and democrats ,
it could be fair to split the country into two as well,
to make everybody happy.
South USA and the North or
East and West this time. Then people could pack bags and move to the states they want to live in.Other model could even adopt federation of states like our Australia.
One contry, two presidents with states under each , mixed like swiss cheese.
For economy that new model may only benefit to all due to increased competition to fulfill people needs. From military point of view, will be less probable to involve in any military conflict when one side want the war and other is against.

Things will be a bit funny when Reds want to go on new war with Iran, since Blue promised to sell weapons to Iran to fight off invasion.
As for whole country is win win situation ,stimulating production and manufacturing sector.

Yes, divide the USA into north and south....that went pretty well the last time around.

And why not have the USA become a federation like Australia....except, um....they beat us to it by 100 years or so.

Not exactly,
The point is that with modern technology you don't need exact border dividing country in half. You could have states mixed like on those map. One is Dem next Rep and Dep again. Then status could be changed with next election, depending on people votes. If existing political system was introduced hundred or two ago doesn't mean that nothing better can be invented now. Pretty much the opposite is true. Not much survived few hundred years that can not be improved. Even voting procedure now in much younger countries is performed in more efficient way then in USA now. I still think that voting by smartphone is the next to come.USA may be leader in technology, but surely lacking in social development. But things could change quickly because they still have the smartest people on the planet, just need a will to make progress now in human relationships and organisation.
The most interesting test will be Elon Musk space colony on Mars. We have already two main hints how it may looks.1) Direct democracy like original in Greece ( not through representative) So all people could vote on any important project2) Imbedded chipset in human brain will ensure total compliance with law.....( called Neuralink and intriguingly people more then happy to have one implanted ASAP already) Obviosly there must carrot to convince people,. In Australia promise of LIFETIME FREE BEER to everybody willing to have ID Chipset implanted could be the one.

Or, why even limit the separation to states. Have two separate nations occupying the same territory. You get to nominate if you are a citizen of Bidenstan or Trumpania, no matter which state you live in. Then, when you get pulled over for speeding by the Bidenstan highway patrol, you just pull out your Trumpania citizenship papers and say, "No, in my country I'm allowed to drive an extra 15 mph and carry an AK47 on my hip." When war is finally declared between the two, you can have a good ol' shootout against you neighbour across the road, PUBG style, and save burning all the fossil fuel that is normally consumed during wars. For a nation that spends so much on their military, the economic efficiency would make America great again (uh, what did I just say?)

I think that what you are saying is not an abstract or absurd but our planet Society future. As a citizen of planet Earth you may one day live where you like and subscribe to any nationality you wish.Pretty much as you freedom of religion. To same extend it shouldn't really matter much. There will be general rules governing whole planet on common sense basis. So belonging to specific group or National doesn't give you any rights to burn forests and kill but rather group will share some economic principles. Doesn't really matter too much also , as each citizen will have guarantee of basic income already. So this will be only to add on extra privilege's- like being astronaut for example. To avoid any conflicts of interests all judgments will be entirely up to AI , so you may have complete freedom of voting on the clown you like ( as long as he/her is completely powerless) .
Lets consider how it may works in practice to resolve social conflicts: In country like Poland introduced now complete ban of abortion. Apply to whole nation. Tyrany of majority ( or even not )> But having two or more governments within same country you could subscribe for each 5 year period to one the allow you to have abortions' or another that prohibit it. In the same apartament building my now live person that belongs to one or anther party. even within family could be similar division. You vote for Trumpanism and your wife Bindenism. Everybody happy.

Unfortunately US politics effects us much more then should indeed. Our export to China is worth 155 bln dollars annually to US 26bn.But the on their request our war with China cost us already 30 bln annually and losses are growing every day with restriction no more and more our products. Everything from coal to lobsters are on hit list due to US policy, that has nothing to do with our interest.Hope that Biden will change this...

Our focus needs to be closer to home. Get drunk and read what **** half of you guys/girls/ transgenders/ whatever talk about. Its Seabreeze with no heavy weather. Guess what I can not be red flagged because everyone takes offensive to the dribble and the sound of ones voice.

Seabreeze = watersports topics. Bring back Seabreeze to a water sport forum where its "safe" for all to read without getting caught up in half of the political bull/****.

dunno why the truth about Venezuela hit a nerve but here it is in formal speak:

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela's ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Samuel Moncada, intervened this Wednesday in the session of the Security Council to denounce the economic aggression of the United States against twenty-nine countries of the world, through their misnamed "sanctions," and proposed the formation of an International Alliance to stop the crimes against humanity perpetuated by the US in violation of human rights and the UN Charter.

'completely ruining what this site originated from'? Are you really poor at filtering out things that you don't want to read? It must be challenging to exist in society for you.

Read the rest of the forums you goose and stop whining that someone else is not doing your censoring for you.

It's already 'back' to a water sports forum. I hope you are adding some interesting content.

What did you get censored on? Venezuela is a complex problem, but I wouldn't believe their claims about being targetted. The government are corrupt and ruining it prefectly fine by themselves.

It's like crashing your own car into a wall and then pointing to some other guy and blaming them because they wouldn't sell you any petrol.
