has anyone considered the worker shortage has come about because anyone with half a brain is refusing to take the clot shot....?
and maybe property prices are about to crash due to the many and every increasingly unreported deaths due to side effects....?

Over here in the west of A, there are shortages of bar staff and cafe workers it seems. There is no restriction on whether you can work if you are unvaccinated, so that can't be the problem. Unvaxxed people are not stopped from working.

My personal feeling is that these industries were supported by international students doing their work. Where I used to work all the staff at the cafes were international students, and with those having returned home, there are few people that want to do those jobs.

Our cycling group got told off the other day for turning up at a coffee shop that only had two staff and the owner started telling us his problems getting workers.

I dunno... Mamils taking over and taking all their money to cafes and expecting coffee and muffin tops and sausages and avocados...

If a buisness is not economically viable, then it should go belly up, simple!

It's the same for staff.

It's just market forces at work. Now that many overseas workers have gone home, the Aussies that are left are paying more for rent and most other things. Employees are voting with their feet and won't work for the same conditions. Wages and prices are going up. It's called inflation.

Those who've taken out huge loans will feel the pain first.

Who said I was mature? There are as many women in the group too, so its a bit more of a mixture.

'We' are doing our best to keep the cafes afloat after the many lockdowns, and make sure that I have a huge meal each time to make sure that they get best value from us. Got to keep those staff paid.

For some reason my beer gut is getting bigger. Go figure.

I heard on Landline the other day that there is a push or maybe a change to have a minimum wage for piece-meal workers including fruit pickers. It seems that some people are being a bit unfair so there is a push to provide them with a minimum number of hours or a base wage to give them a minimum.... who would have thought Covid could make the workplace fairer.

I bet lots of farmers are missing the backpackers right now.

There was also mention that the backpacker tax has been removed after a challenge by a UK woman. Good on her. Taxing them more was a crazy idea for people that otherwise spent most of their money here. I wonder what genius thought that was a good idea?
