My kids & I loved it . The kids loved it so much we just had to go to the Viking exhibition on at the maritime museum . It was great standing on a long boat made me realise how tough those people really were I mean there open hulled & not that big every body did get a locker to sit on while rowing & apparently they all had there own locks as the penalty for theft was higher if it was locked up . They had plenty of locks on display not much weapons was a bit disappointed by that . Although I did get to see my spine & it was labelled with crushed & worn out after a life of hard labour just like my last xray

Do you think they'd windsurf of kitesurf?
My vote is windsurf how could you kite surf in chain mail & carry provisions for your raid & I bet they made kite surfers slaves as they couldn't carry weapons & armour . Probably just tied them up with there own kite lines & dragged em back . Probably long boarders .Maybe formula .
