I hate that after purchase BS!
Very funny once when I bought a car at a dealer and after the price was agreed he wanted to sell me the 'warranty'. I said no thanks, I'm good. He then proceeded to show show me a book of severe warranty claims, all these cars with massive issues. I said "mate, I sure as hell don't want to get a car from you now, they are pretty much all stuffed!". He said "Oh, not at all mate, this is less than 1% of the cars that we sell." I said "So you are saying there is less than a 1% chance that I'll have a warranty claim then?" He just got up and walked out, poor buggar.

After reading through this thread last week, I looked at my neglected car and decided to give the old girl a bit of a birthday on the weekend. Was. Done. Vacuum. Done. Polish. The offerings in the supply cupboard were a bit thin, and the tin was full of dust. No problem, I thought, with a big Bunnings down the road I knew I was sorted. Wrong. If I wanted to degrease the engine, transform the leather interior or touch up the paintwork I would have had choices aplenty.
No problem, off to the servo to pick up some basic polish. I tried 4 in the area. If I had a case of diarrhoea, halitosis or dehydration, I would have been sorted. But car polish at a service station? no chance. The car care products ranged from a one adjustable spanner toolbox, to mismatching globes and even an occy strap (with warnings), but no polish. WTF? Needless to say the old girl looks clean, but shabby. Kinda like me on boxing day.

Most have stop/tail and H4/7 but anything else you have no hope. They must make 150% on the servo ones tho

Of course, I got taken by this scam and paid a lot more than the same treatment would have cost aftermarket

I wouldn't feel too bad, millions of other men have been "scammed" by flirty, good looking women showing a bit of skin

When i bought my ute the ming mole offered me rust protection and her reaction to me telling her i didn't want to car if it was going to rust was priceless but i guess it's their job to sell so you can't blame them.

I think most first time new car buyers fall in to this trap including myself, such a waste of money

Well, I'm guessing they were headlight globes. My mechanical incompetence knows no bounds.

Cars are de-investments When it looses its turn key reliability get rid of it and get another. Nano paint would look great While the motor and rest of the car falls to pieces. I dunno if you could drive a car everyday and not get wear and tear on it. Impossiable.

I agree.

I loved the video you posted as well. I did the same thing to a car recently, but unlike those two numbskulls, I placed a note on the car saying that I accidentally scratched your car. They never called, so that's that. Karma is real.
