Have I got it or is it a cold or the flu.
It would be 20 years since I had a cold let alone the flu. Misses was a nurse and always fastidious.
Went sailing yesterday , drove down to boat ,rigged sails and went off for the day ,by myself.
When I got back said g'day to guy polishing daughters boat ,from about 10 feet. and drove home saw no one .
Woke up this morning aches and pains and thought it was due to the sailing as it was a blast with the no. one , full main in too much wind. later today a raging temp. . Freezing cold two hours ago now sweats. I have scarred lungs from the methotrexate I take but my breathing is good, for me right now.
Now no one has been to house for two months and misses wipes down benches with disinfectant daily . Aside from buying newspaper each morning , buying petrol fortnightly and carting shopping to car ,wife shops. Ive been nowhere except sailing as per yesterday.
We do not socialise and daughters have not visited in fear of giving us whatever.
How in the hell did I get this .
F..ck me .
Just remembered we voted last week but kept distance.

I am assuming you are not talking about Gardonavirus, and Covid19?
By the sounds of it, the flu virus can survive on a lot of things for a long amount of time. Maybe that's it. Regardless, I hope its just the regular flu and that things improve.
Thanks gents .
Cant even post to correct ...
No worries, we figured what you meant, and again, I hope you start feeling better.
Was funny to hear that there is also a run on guns and ammo. We're all preppers now.
No such thing as a run on guns and ammo in W.A. - it is better called "smart buying".
We have learnt the hard way that you have to buy whatever you can get your hands on as soon as it is available.
For serious service rifle shooters , "exotics" like .303 can be frustrating as ammo supply is so ruddy inconsistent.
Reloading is the only way to get consistency, but components are just as hard to find - I have even considered trying to get projectiles CNC machined from solid brass - but don't know any local machinists with the right tooling for the job.
The last powder order into W.A. was supposed to be 5+ tonnes, only 1 1/2 arrived.
The powder is made in Australia - but most of it goes to the USA, and with the Americans on a buying spree the priority will be to fill the USA warehouses and shops before we get a look in, prices have been rising over 10% every year, but with the current exchange rates, we are expecting a minimum price increase of 30% very soon.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACT 2005 (WA) Section 71 CLOSURE OF GUN SHOPS
Considering you cant just walk into a shop, pay your money and walk out with a boomstick it doesn't make sense.
From initial application, to taking possession is normally a MINIMUM of 2 months for a firearm of any type, and often much longer.
Anyone who is already a licensed firearm owner has had to satisfy WAPOL that they are a fit and proper person to own and use firearms, but now they cant buy loaded ammunition or components [which were already in very short supply anyway].
Those restricted to "authorised club activities only" are in a spot of bother - they are compelled by law to attend club events "X times per year".
If they cannot meet their mandated legal requirement, the Club is required to notify WAPOL - which results in confiscation of firearms.
However - the club ranges have been closed by WAPOL order, - and WAPOL are still insisting that these shooters must comply with the necessary attendance regime!!

Sorry to hear this for you
If you did contract COVID, with symptoms showing today, you may may contacted it anytime over the last week
I believe the advice is to ring hotline, report, stay at home for 14days, unless too unwell, by reporting they will try and trace your source, they may even know once you share locations you have been.
They may also come test you at home
Beware by reporting you will be mandatory quarantine, so that may come with restrictions and penalties.
Good luck, even if its the cold you should isolate as your risk is higher.
The petrol pump.
Petrol pump, voting pencil, change from buying newspaper, groceries. Even when you are being careful, the list is long.
This is a reminder that only a single simple contact is needed. Each day the chance of coming into contact with someone infected or something contaminated increases, and in a few weeks it will be almost inevitable that you have contact somehow. We've a few simple rules we are trying to implement here, on top of any other measures.
1. Wash hands immediately upon entering the house.
2. Wash hands immediately before preparing food.
3. Wash hands immediately before eating.
4. Sanitise food preparation areas a couple of times a day.
5. Avoid touching face at all times. (This is the hardest!)
Bananabender, wish you well for a good recovery.
