A close relative has been done at .1 the morning after a wedding. He needs his licence (like most people do) as he works nights and days at different places all over south east QLD. Obviously it would be better if he did not get caught but he did. I advised him to get a solicitor to plead his case but he is reluctant. I was wondering if anyone here had experience with a DD charge with and without legal advice. Am I right in thinking he would get a better result if he engages the services of a legal representative or should he just rock up and say a thousand sorry's and hope for the judge to be having a good day? Interested to hear your experiences or opinions (not moral judgement's).
Terry....
Obviously it would be better if he did not get caught
Terry....
I'm guessing you meant to say "Obviously it would be better if he did not drive at twice the limit. "![]()
^^^this
I don't know what exactly the rules are with getting one, but he maybe able to get an extraordinary licence.
If you drink and drive you are an ****ing idiot! So if you are twice above the limit and drive you are a double fcucking idiot. Hope he will not get an extraordinary license as he knew that he was over and chose to drive and maybe kill some innocent guy while doing it. There is no excuses for that.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^(red thumbs to him)
You wont get off, you will still have a fine to pay and lose off points. If you can prove that it wasnt a result of reckless behaviour, he did party at the wedding, but he did allow for this by sleeping at the location and has got up to go to work and there has been some residual effects from alcohol concieved the night before
He should be able to get off, or keep his license suggesting it wasnt that reckless and he is a goid guy? Working and supporting others? Should be just a fine, remorse helps regardless of whether you think it matches the level of intend.
Can someone calculate backwards, what his Alcohol content in his blood was if he had 5 hours sleep and weighed 85kg?
I gave it a shot, but my calculation seems too high.
I had it up around 0.29
Do some research. I'm not going to tell you the name of the bloke I use, but the internet will. He has got me off every time. Not even a fine was incurred, although he is not cheap. Like they say, you get what you pay for.
^^ He got you off every time... So this guy is your insurance plan so can drive pissed whenever it suits you? Glad not to be sharing the road with you remo.

When he says he got me off everytime, its pretty obvious he wasn't referring to legal procedures,

Its not my fault that one time the cop wasn't certified in the use of the testing equipment. And another time the equipment hasn't been maintained in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. This sort of thing lead to me falsely testing well over the limit. I won't go into the others.
Brody Seems you are making fun of Gay blokes??? Are you homophobic??? Not very PC my friend.

There is nothing derogatory in that comment towards the gay community.......sure, its obvious the lawyer could do a lot better when it comes to selecting whom he chooses to get off.....

Would you have made the same comment if my lawyer was a women? I think not.
Homophobia should not be tolerated anywhere. You are a very low human being indeed
Its not my fault .... one time ... And another time .... the others....

A serial drunk driver who uses legal technicalities to avoid responsibility versus a non-pc fnar-fnar quip on the internet.
I guess moral judgements are made in the eye of the beholder

Oh God, have you been drinking again?
Are you driving right now??
I've posted nothing derogatory towards homosexuals, gay lawyers and their gay clients have my blessing to perform a variety of sexual acts, they can be hardcore, i especially condone it if the client is on the receiving end of a good hard ramming, with consent of course, which i believe is the case in your story....as he has got you off more than once as you suggested, indicating your consent or pleasure with going back
You suggested the gender of your lawyer, of course the same lame sexual inuendo with be relevant if you suggested the gender of your preffered choice of lawyer to get you off was female, and then yes, the whole she could do better blah blah comments would still stand
Please, enjoy yourself with your lawyer, you most certainly have my blessing
I much prefer you enjoy yourself that way then driving around all drunk in some weird who am i transgender moment

So he's blown .1 and the limits .05! I think the fact he needs a licence for work is going to mean F all to be honest? i recon if he gets any less than 9 months disqualification hes doing well! but to answer your original question if it were me i'd be getting a solicitor for sure! fact is hes not gonna get away with a few sorry sorry **** sorry! sorry man absolutely zero f*&K's given he deserves every thing he gets and even then it wont be enough
what a total tool!!!!!

So now you are calling the transgender people weird?? Does it ever stop with you and your Redneck comments?
Mate getten done with 0.1 is no big deal. As far as I'm conserned as long as you are under 0.25 you should be allowed to drive.
No nanny state is going ta stop me either.
Drink and drive and get caught = Bloody Idiot.
Drink and drive and get home = Bloody Legend.
Yes!!!! I'll say it, i find the whole transgender thing weird, so what, im not suggesting people cant transition but in comparision to my life it seems weird, and the age, kids before puberty and ol men like Jenner, its weird to me
So is kite boarding, thats not suggesting that they shouldnt be free to express themselves on equipment that was an after thought to an already established much more difficult pursuit, everyone can feel free to express themselves , but im still free to suggest i find it it strange or weird
There is nothing weird about you Remo, your a text book closet gay, possible transgender, sure, you play the whole gun totting, thats a pretty mouth boy routine, but i get the feeling you'd rather be putting lipstick on that pig rather than killing it and making love to it in what is in accordance with redneck tradition

Mate, I've got a perfect driving record. Never had an accident no matter how pissed I was. If you have ever had a prang sober or drunk you can not judge me.
Ps. Im always in for a little you me carpark now. But remember you cant win everytime.
The way I see it Drink drivers kill and injure way more people than sharks ever will.
So I reckon the police should be allowed to "Cull" them after a serious accident
For general drink driving a "catch and release" program. Catch the over the limit, drop them of in the middle of the Simpson Desert let them walk home.
For those who feel I am victimizing or that I am a bit harsh with my attitude towards drink drivers, I've been in constant pain for the last 30 years from my run in with a drink driver in 1985.
There is no excuse or justification for Drink Driving

Ha, we were just reading this thread through and i told my boyfriend, oops, my lawyer, that i bet it wont be long before Remo segways to Muslims........ta-dar....
Yep being harsher through the law on drink driving is exactly the same as the xenophobia that Muslims now face......

Me thinks this is your second account?
What is ur first one?
call a taxi, friend or family member and have some sort of exit plan when getting on the swill.
no excuses for drink driving.
as for driving the next day after a big night on the turps.i was told never drive for 12 hours after your last drink.
recently i got drunk as ten men having my last drink about 1am ,the next day i need to attend an appointment
and felt like sh!t,i remembered the 12 hour rule but it was 12 o'clock ,,,but didn't trust it.
it so happen a cop was about 100m up the road visiting a home,i walked up the street and asked if i could be breath
tested,,,i blew 00
There is no cure for stupid...
It astounds me the crap that selfish turds put on here seeking to get themselves out of trouble with the law, whilst taking no responsibility for their actions... last time it was speeding... this time a couple of morons that see no harm in drink driving...
"it's all the nanny state's fault..." fkn boo hoo
Terry, remo, wake up, grow up...
Pug, I'm not hurting anyone. So therefor I've done nothing wrong.
If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make any noise?
If someone has a few and drives home, and doesn't have an incident, and noone sees them, is it a crime?
