Dried beans especially lima or butter beans with curry sauce tastes great.

Chickpeas are good too.

If you are lazy like me just add a few spices while the beans are on simmer. Or this.....

There is time to start to appreciate those that get Corona virus infection already and recovered. Those people now are the most precious and can be trusted workers, helpers, safe to other people. We should invent some insignia so those veterans could display to show they are safe. Maybe something like Green Dot sticker or bracelet? If you meet now a courier delivery or chef in the kitchen restaurant , or waiter with green dot- you may be assured he/ her is not going to pass virus on you.
Those people will have priority in employments opportunity, as not likely to get sick.

So the toilet paper hoarding idiots who never bake or prepare masses of food from scratch are now hoarding food. Tin food, I can understand their selfish mentality, but flour, rice, porridge and the like is quite different. The trouble is that if you don't use it the chances are you will have a pantry full of weevils in two to three months. Many of these foods and spices have the eggs in the packet. No big deal if it is cooked and consumed in an appropriate length of time.
Now theses idiots all don't realise by hoarding all the hand sanitizer and other sanitary products the majority of the population cant protect themselves, which in turn means more people contract the virus more quickly, which in turn means the hoarders will stand a greater chance of contracting the virus quickly.
May the hoarders have houses full of weevils, bum cracks red raw from over wiping and lose the respect of their neighbours and friends for their selfish acts.
Shame on them.

Nothing, but a lot of people seem to prefer the gels. I suspect because it feels more effective, which i think has been disproven.

At my work I worry when people dont bother washing their hands then go straight for the hand sanitizer.... yuk!

Bread back, but meat all gone today. Guess people changed their priorities. Plenty of stories of people buying chest freezers, so I figure the meat shortage will last for as long as it takes to fill all those up, what, a month? At least not as long as it takes to fill a garage with toilet paper.

Yep, I just received advice from my satellite supplier( Sky Muster ) to stock movie supply on Netflix.Apparently I could download a lot to watch later. Some additional cost may apply.
I think that politician may be now thrilled with ability to take complete control of internet.Obviously in order to stop spreading " miss information".Things like a GPS bracelet introduced for ordinary citizens in UK under the pretense of enforcing quarantine where not imaginagle just a few month ago. To be fair , GPS solar tracker for my cattle seems to be tiny in comparison to those UK trackers. I am sure that UK invention have inbuilt electroshocker paralyser in order to reinforce boundary.

opportunities are endless:
-buying three toilet rolls instead of two - electric shock
-closing distance to another person below 2 m - electric shock

That's not a bad idea. Plenty of people still seem to be talking face to face in the supermarket. A little reminder would do them good.

Supermarket strategy of closing 2 hours early and stocking shelves properly every night seems to have really worked. There was a noticeable change in the mood in the supermarket today. Shelves were all full, (even penne, apparently the king of pasta, was on offer), and everyone seems to be doing a normal food shop. I guess there's nothing more effective at making people panic than the sight of half-empty shelves, and if they ensure they get to see full shelves every morning, there's no reason to stock up.

As for toilet paper, well, I guess certain primal urges can't be suppressed.

This will be hard for some people that are used to drinking a lot all the time. I am sure there are many that would happily forget about toilet paper and have a supply of alcohol instead.

i think the desperate ones should be learning how to homebrew and then settle in.

My father regularly goes to the local club 3 or more nights a week. I wonder how he will cope without a few drinks each of these nights?

Washing hands is the most effective but its not always convenient and studies have shown gels are just as effective in eliminating germs but obviously gels don't clean dirt off the hands
