There must be a lack of wind .
Were checking if Canadians have a sense of humor . We tried that with the septics and found out some had there humor gland removed .

My daughters husband is Canadian and has just produced my first grandchild.

The husband is French Canadian.

Should I be concerned?

I would be very concerned.

Bacon has a small amount of sugar that contributes to the caramelisation and slight crispiness when cooked properly.
Using maple syrup instead, makes something that is too sweet.

Normal bacon - yum. Normal bacon done wrong - yum.
Maple bacon errrrk its just too sweet and the sweetness kills the smoky pork vibe. It is too much of one ingredient that over-rides the others.

To then pour maple syrup over a savoury dish is just fkd up.
What are they thinking?

Please ensure your grandchild has bacon as intended. Please, for all of us.

Having spent the last 6years in Canada I can say that they do have a sense of humour BUT are also very easy to offend, in fact I think they are probably on the other end of the sensitive scale to you guys in Aus.

Maple is syrup is more of a French Canadian thing and well those guys are just odd anyway.

Moose lips and pemmican, and snow. That's what they eat, and whale blubber and trees.
They cut down trees and wear high heels.
They tow the trees into their lodges and nibble on them all winter. And they parle Franglaise.
