All Guns owned by Specialize shooters(Hunters, Target shooters) in Urban area must be held at a police stations and drugs and alcohol check are done every time the gun is checked in or out. The gun must have a GPS tracker on it and every time it is out the Shooter can be randomly checked for drugs and alcohol
Alcohol and Guns do not mix
All Semi-auto gun should only be help by police and military and maybe a few select Animal control specalists in the country
The problem with Semi-autos is most can easily be made into Full-autos with a hand file as Mark well knows

The Remington "7615" pump action 30-30 rifle must be banned NOW.
^^^ Ian programming a machine is very different to doing it manually. YYou can't compare pricing like that.
I only baulked at obvious over-quoting cos they don't want the job.

BTW you can't get a 7615 in anything other than .223. It is called that cos it takes AR15 magazines, and as a result it IS banned in WA. The 7600 is the same rifle but with normal mags, and comes in a lot of calibres but not .303 I don't think any rilfe comes in .303 any more. If you are going to be all anti you need to research a bit / sound credible.

Why is this a 'things I want to talk to MA about' thread? I think that's where the other two guys got a bit carried away.
Start a thread about why you like gun control and see who bites. I like the idea of gun control too, but I'm not going to hassle people about it any chance I get.

Which the police do not want - they have enough problems in securing their own firearms, let alone anyone else's. They do not want - and cannot afford the responsibility.

At whose cost? - there would be thousands of hours of police time lost doing pointless checks.

How is the tracker to be attached without damaging valuable firearms?
It will need to be pretty robust to handle the heat, humidity, solvents, oils, recoil, vibration.

Unauthorised modification of a firearm of any type is already an offence.

I very much doubt you would find this done by a licensed shooter to their firearms - unauthorised modification is illegal.
No legitimate shooter is going to modify their firearms in such a way, crims however are not worried about the rules regulations or legislative boundaries that we abide by.

Why? a 30-30 is an ideal firearm for shooting feral pigs, goats, donkeys and the like.
