It is of course only logical that if you were a government trying to make an incredibly secret attack on the WTC, you'd warn another country's major broadcaster beforehand and give them a precise timetable of the destruction. After all, in return for bringing in another country's media - with all the incredible breach of security that would involve - you'd gain nothing. But mere logic isn't enough to deter conspiracy theorists.

Where's the sarcasm font?

The bit you are missing is that for all the secret planning that these groups do, they slip up and make really obvious stuff ups all the time, and its only the conspiracy theorists that are clever enough to see them. I.e. incredibly smart planning, but really poor control over execution.

The sarcasm font? It's this one isn't it? I use it all the time!

Oh yep, and they attract plenty of extremely ignorant people. I only just found out that PM, for example, doesn't even know about the earlier examples in which a plane hit a NY tower, and how they prove that he is completely and utterly wrong with his bizarre claim that an alloy plane would not penetrate a building.

How can you be so invested in an idea, yet so lacking in curiousity and knowledge that you don't even know about the 1945 and 1946 crashes in which far smaller planes penetrated buildings with (probably) tougher skins in the same city?

It takes an extremely dishonest person, IMHO, to be as aggressive as many 9/11 whackos are and yet still be so ignorant and gullible. Surely an honest person would have looked at the previous incidents and known about the physics of planes hitting buildings? But no, the depths to which conspiracy theorists can go are beyond understanding.

So true, I've heard some even go so far as to create completely new identities on forums and pretend to be someone else after they get thrown out by the mods

Which is a lot more benign than being a vicious 9/11 conspiracy theorist. Their claims involve allegations of crimes against humanity by specific people. Take, for instance, the claim that the BBC was in on 9/11. That would probably mean that the caption person, the journalist, and the newsroom manager were informed of a vast mass murder beforehand, and that they then sat back and said nothing apart from playing their own part. That would make those BBC staff complicit in mass murder, just like concentration camp guards.

PM and his kind are alleging that those BBC staff are complicit in a vast mass murder as part of an even vaster conspiracy. Anyone who makes such vile, scummy, revolting allegations on the sort of stupid evidence they bring up - like PM not even knowing what happened when earlier planes penetrated NYC towers, which he said would not happen - is behaving in a sickening manner and throwing vile slurs at other people. That is completely and utterly different to changing names on a forum.
