Possibly the hottest topic of discussion currently in the world is not allowed on general discussion.

A very sad day for freedom of speech. I am shocked.

A grave error? Someone got interned in the wrong place?

Jokes aside, it is interesting to discuss some of the more current things in society, but I can see that it generates a load on moderators to try and keep it civil and they just won't want to waste that time for nothing. It is a water sports site, so I can see the reluctance to arbitrate arguments between people about other stuff.

Are there any good forums for these sorts of discussions? I am not sure there is. Its almost like you need to have people build up a personality online first, but some of these forums anyone can just post, so the discussions seem to be rather thin.

If the season next year is the same as this year, maybe there will need to be a new forum on 'what to do when there is no wind'.

Thanks for the spoiler alert! Now I already know and next time I watch sunrise there will be no surprise.

If they get rid of Kochie and replace him with Grant Denyer, keep quiet please.

I do not think the moderators needed to do much at all in the thread Are you going to take it as the conversation seemed quite polite etc.

This is a clear breach of freedom of expression and one day the person or persons responsible may well have to answer for aiding the current Orwellian climate of censorship.

So now you want the people that host this site to be responsible for breaching 'freedom of expression'. How about you setup your own website and carry that burden yourself?

The issue with moderators is that they would need to read through and understand every thread to make sure there is nothing written that is a problem. Who wants to do that? As far as I know none are paid to do that, so why should they?

Maybe jump onto Quora or somewhere like that and bring up these ideas?

I must live in a bubble, since I have no idea what it is. Actually, I do live in a bubble, I know. Seabreeze is pretty much my sole source of news.

I give you guys respect for looking at any of the HW or 'important' stuff.

I dont know how you get the energy to get across it all.
I'm with Harrow, SB is my bubble when it comes to alot of things, 1/2 the time you hear about stuff faster here anyhow.

There's so much that I cant control, influence or have any bearing on, most of the time normal life is more than enough to cope with as it is anyway.
Especially this month, but it is what it is.

So long as Funny Images remains the most followed thread, and we all get to go for a sail, the rest comes along way after IMHO

Easy fix. If you don't like it get off the site.

Seabreeze - Sorry, but you'll need to take the conversation elsewhere (and there are plenty of places).

Yet to come across one in this country.

We have been subjected to 24/7 rhetoric for the last year regarding vaccination.

Good to have at least some balance in a discussion however small though many on here seem all too happy not to question and more importantly are happy to go a long with such blatant censorship.

Good balance is only achieved by weights of equal quality, It's not censorship to leave out rubbish.
ie, unfounded speculation presented as facts, down right lies and deliberate obfuscation

You're not looking very hard. I though anti vaxx conspiritards would have plenty of echo chambers to go yell into.
It's not censorship, it's ownership. Laurie owns the site, codes and runs the site. Advertising helps pay for that.

The mods just don't want to deal with the agro and misleading information.
To many conspiracy posts can be off-putting to sponsors, so it's easier to get rid of them.

All the advertising on here is google ads. Google never stops feeding ads.

How many 'real' ads do you see from sponsors?

Years back there was a sponsors list on the site but it was removed. I thought it was a good way for gear suppliers to keep getting their businesses noticed by their customers
