Pelican Point is a great spot for wing foiling and is one of the better locations for these strong easterly winds we have been having. So, it works in everything from a North Easterly, Easterly, South Easterly, Southerly and our classic South, South Westerly Seabreeze. Medium to high tide is better as you don't have to walk out as far, but it is doable on the lower tides as well.

It seems to go a bit deeper quicker when you walk straight out from the boat ramp. I used to wear botties when foiling on the river but have not done so recently and have not had any crab bites on the toes (yet) Set up on the grass section on the south side with the windsurfers and leave the other side to the kiters.

There is a shower there with a hose as well which is nice & be sure to use the cray boat to do power gybes around as well

See you out there!

good location for easterlies. gets a bit of a wind shadow by the launch spot, but easy to drift out.
Parking charges apply weekdays between 8am - 5pm.
I've been going there all winter for sun-rise sessions, but favoring Point Walter more recently (free-parking).
