I know fuerte, Tenerife and Gran canaria all have their spots.. But was hoping I could practice some acro paragliding on Hierro this summer and just wondering why I've never read about anyone WINGING there. I know it's quite rocky coastline probably a headache for launching kites but... Could be some decent launches for the DING?
I was there this summer and place looked great for winging, unfortunately I had not my gear. Launching with the wing would not be a problem, maybe just a little swim untill you have enough depth for the foil .. there were some nice small beaches to launch from. Only issue is that the place is totally uncrowded, so no way to go out winging alone ... anything happens and you are screewed if no one can assist you.
I was there in august and trade winds ( North East ) were good for 7 days in a row then 1-2 days calm, then back again for a week more. Its for freeride/freestyle as there are not good spots for wingfoil in waves, too colse tote rocks, for surfing , also not good, in summer waves are not good there.
Thank you! The fact that you saw "no waves for wingding" is enough to make me forget about it. How about Tenerife? Decent swell for pump and glide there? Anyone? Bueller?
Tenerife is good but its windswell and very windy in summer, I recommend you better Fuerteventura on the north side of the island .. but no cliffs for paragliding haha
