board weight importance

hello
how important is the board weight?
the SB 7.0 is about 9.5ks while the f-one 6'6 is about 2 kilograms less and the fanatic 6 is in the meddle

Light boards are great. They make less work for the wing, your foil and your legs. As long as the construction is adequate for the job I try to go light.

Really sucks carrying heavy gear too.

No so important for beginners but gees it makes a difference to pumping efficiency and wave riding. Will be hard to buy a non carbon board after riding the 80L Quatro this summer. So light and agile.

Board dimensions and weight distribution are critical components of feel. A shorter board with more weight in the back will feel lighter even if its heavier on the scale.
