anyone tried 1150 or 1050 Sk8 for light wind parawing option?
I realise Sk8s are not lift monsters, but seeing more on s/h market, and figure a big one with a bigger stab might work nice with 5m trashbag in the light stuff? Enuf lift to get going in 10 knots with some bump help, and still have a nice bit of roll & flow compared to a big Sevenseas
Have been winging 850 Sk8 in 10k+ and 550 sk8 15k+, so not looking for top end.
I have never sailed bigger than SK8 850 (V2), but when I parawing I use Eagle X 1000, and it's exhilarating honestly. My biggest Parawing size is BRM Kanaha 5.5.I'd appreciate feedback on the larger SK8s so I'll keep an eye on this thread
Not sure about parawinging them but I was uninspired by the 1050 with a wing in my hand. I just felt like that foil wanted more push than the local river swell was willing to give. I didn't like the carving either. Try before you buy if possible.
I have the 1150 sk8 and I think it is a great foil. Low stall speed and good allround. I use this in low wind. Crisp 130 tail with xxs.

thanks John! is that a custom Crisp stab to fit the monobloc fuse?
I had extensive talks about getting a sk8 1150 with my local distributor. He convinced me to go Eagle 1090 instead for 2026. Said it was equally carvy with a carve tail, bigger speed range and doesnt really loose anything in low-end compared to the Sk8. Haven't ridden it yet though, hopefully the boat will arive in a week or 2. All for winging, no pw.
Dont know your weight, thats a relevant factor aswell.
For some time now, the SK8 1150[/b] has been my go-to foil. I used to ride smaller sizes, ranging from 650 to 1050. I actually bought the 1150 for my daughter, but now it's the one I use most often. Over the last three months, my best sessions at Corralejo and Majanicho (Fuerteventura) have been on this wing. Even in 6 knots, I can just jump on it with my wing.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the SK8 1150. If I had to choose a one-foil quiver[/b], this would be it. It gets on foil quickly, turns amazing in the waves, and has great glide. It carries the full SK8 DNA and, in my opinion, it's the most versatile and best foil on the market right now. I've tried many foils, but the SK8 1150 beats them all.
The new Eagle Ocean Surf (1090)[/b] might be even better. I'll probably have a chance to test it in a few days. However, considering value for money, the SK8 V1 and V2 will definitely be attractive since the SK8 V3 is coming out soon with a new shape. I've tried the 850 V3 and it's sensational.
That said, I'm not sure if I'll switch yet. I'm so happy with my current SK8s and Eagle X, and the new F-One versions require a new mast[/b], which is a big factor.
But I have to admit, the new gear is tempting! :-)

Hi Flowstate, that is a custom Crisp tail but it is not a monoblock. I feel it is better than the monoblock that I have. The 200. I am 85 kg for reference. Have had F One foils for some time. 7 Seas 1400 is very versatile and great in low wind too but in my case the 1150 Sk8 replaced it. I also ride Code and Cabrinha Prestige. I have kept the Sk8s as they are a great reference point and still very good.
I originally demoed the 1150 and loved it but didnt buy. I retried it later and bought it.
