Hi Brains Trust
Im very much in beginner phase
generally been using the 400/90 stab but then tried 425/66, paired with PNG910
425 gets on foil so much easier but quiet skatey
put the 400 back on - like a sea anchor!
any suggestions for something in the middle
thanks in advance
I'd give the 400 Progressive a look. Thinner foil, much quicker, freer stab than the old free rides- pairs nicely with the 910.
Yeah, I've gone from 440 fr, to 400 p and it's a bit of a jump. Know what you mean about skatey. Something in between the 400fr and 425p - I'd suggest a bigger progressive rather than a smaller fr.
Other option would be to lengthen your fuse with the 425 on. It will provide a bit more stability but it might be a bit of an exxy solution.
Or just keep working on the 425?
The 910 is suuuuch a great foil.
The thing with tail stabs is when you change down you put them on and immediately think "oh jeez I hate this thing, it's put me back weeks". The temptation is to just take it off and put the old one back on.Just stick with it, grit your teeth and keep riding it, in two/three weeks time you will have forgotten all about it being skatey and hard to ride and wonder what the problem was. It's just one of those things, you have to work through it as otherwise you will just ride the old familiar free ride stab forever.

Well put. I had been pairing the 375p with my ART999 and I specifically remember thinking just what you said when I put the 325p on. I think it's worth spending the time to dial the new setup and setting a new baseline. I never ride the 375p anymore as the 325p feels like it has the right amount of stability while still allowing me to turn a pretty wide front foil.
