Not much wind around NNSW in winter so I head OS for a break. I've had good winging at Nananui I Ra island in Fiji the last couple of years & am keen to try somewhere different.
I've heard there's good wind in Papua New Guinea but also denghi fever.
Has anyone tried Sri Lanka? There are winging schools there & a lot of kiting.
Please share your overseas winging experiences.
cheers.

What were the good attributes at Nananui I Ra island? and any swell?
Yeah, I'd be keen for a one week coaching session somewhere. Don't need night clubs or tourist attractions, just somewhere to rent gear with good instructors and somewhere to crash out at night... ![]()

Wind Sports Fiji operate from Nananuira - have Foil rental and school with gear from prone boards through to 75 to 140 litre Wing Foiling Boards and De board for light days. Axis foils and a variety of wing brands from 2.8 through to 7m.
Generally a reliable seasonal trade wind -15-25 knots. Flat water in FoilBay for lessons - solid 5km and 8km downwinders back to the beach. Warm water about 26 degrees. No surf - go off Namotu or Tavarua for that - plenty of probe surfing there - not here :)
pm for any further queries - happy to help :)

Nannui I ra has consistent 15-17 knot winds from May to September. Great protected bay with small rolling waves. Boat rides to other islands if you want downwind riding. Cheap, clean accommodation 5minutes from the sailing beach. macsnananu.com/
