Hi all, im fairly new to winging and wanted to know if the long beach at Woodman Point facing south to Kwinana is suitable for winging....someone mentioned it was shallow? Any pointers on where NOT to go please. Thanks in advance.

Yes it's a great spot, my local! Great for wing, parawing and mini sup downwinders off the point. The south facing beach is known as beach 1 this is probably the best beach to wing on at woodmans point the other beaches can be a bit shallow and don't have quite as nice of a setup.
A great spot for beginner/ intermediate wingers as you can do long runs without having to go too far out to sea and if something goes wrong your always fairly close to shore and will get blown back in fairly quickly. Also not much shorebreak to deal with. Can be a bit tricky for total beginners because getting off the beach can be difficult if you can't go upwind well. Also can be quite choppy and bumpy which is great but not always easy for beginners.

There is a shallow patch about 50x 50 meters in front of launch at the west end of the beach but the rest of it is plenty deep enough. Plenty of nice clear water over sand and reef.

When the wind is over 20 knots it gets some really fun surfy bumps. Not as much power as north metro but really nicely formed and stacked up bumps. Great for carving and surfing downwind. Wind angle also lines up really well for doing upwind downwind and flagging the wing.

You might see me out there on a light green board with either a red and white or pink and white parawing.

Also definitely a high theft risk area so try to bring less gear and cover it up a bit if you have it in the back of the car.

Thank you so much! A great explanation ?? I will definitely look out for you...i have a white board with two orange and red stripes....Cabrinha wings..
I was thinking it could be a high theft area as i saw some glass in the car park last weekend when i was checking it out. I just parked in the second car park and walked over the hill. Might look to park closer up near the point?
Stay safe out there buddy. And thanks again for your help.
