I just heard formula wing standards dropping max men's wing from 7.5m to intended 6.5m later this year.
Is that going to be good for the sport?

More reliance on larger light wind foils instead of using sub-500 cm2 almost all the time?

The racers who've complained about 8m wings will be complaining that they can't use their 7.3's anymore and the ideal rider weight will be 70 kg's. It's a small guy sport now. And the racers will definitely stay on their 500 cm2 foils.

The last M2O Eddo Sup paddled it on a F-0ne on 516 Momentum :- 1hr -56 min ( 1st place Sup) . Cash came in on the wing I think it was a 7.5m 1hr - 48 min . Line honours but not sure on foil size but pretty sure he was powered the whole way and averaged 39.9 kph that is so fast . 8 mins ahead of Eddo at 40kph that a huge gap. It's a separate division why on earth would you want to limit it , I know this is more directed at course racing.............It's not like a Para where you can change size mid race . The sport is still evolving so fast it's stupid to try and slow it down. All this high racing will put even more R&D into smaller more efficient user friendly foils for us punters. Who would have thought a year ago people would be prone paddling a UHA 570 cm2 foil and pumping laps on it.
