Hey, new here. Just picked up wing foiling and wondering if anyone foils in the Drummoyne area? Understood that there are better locations in Sydney, however if the conditions are right this might be a nice spot close to home.

I mainly plan to use the Botany area but thought it worth asking.

Any feedback or other recommendations welcome.

When I was taking my first steps in DWsup I was using that area to learn to paddle straight - I have family in the Ashfield area.
I would launch from the beach next to the Dobroyd Sailing Club, it's certainly deep enough and it gets some strong - but gusty wind.
Try it in any wind direction but a westerly, that way you're always getting blown back into the shallows. It gets muddy and shallow before it gets rocky so you can always just walk back to your start point.

The windsurfers use the area frequently, and there's not a lot of boat traffic. I'd say give it a shot. You can give everyone doing the Bay-Run a really good show
