On Sunday 15th May, Manly Sailing Club in New Zealand welcomed a fleet of wing foilers and ran an action packed afternoon of racing!

The MSC was thrilled to have over 20 foilers on the course and are very excited about the growth of the sport within their regular weekend racing programme.

Manly Beach is a spectacular location for wing foiling and the conditions on the day were great for the inaugural event.

We intend to try different courses and formats to keep things interesting.

Enjoy some of the epic highlights from the day!

Very cool video thanks for posting. What kind of course were you running?

Sorry just saw your reply, yes it was a 3min countdown start sequence with 2 x Windward leewards with a gate at the bottom mark and a short reach to the finish. Going to experiment with a range of course including Slalom style

On Sunday 12th June, Manly Sailing Club had over 25 wing foilers on the start line for an action-packed afternoon of racing.

It was Josh Armit who dominated the day winning 5 out of 5 races. Josh has recently returned to NZ from training and racing in Europe in the iQFOIL class - going to show there is some great skills transfer between Wind & Wing foiling.

The next event is on Sunday 19th June - please register at www.manlysailingclub.org.nz/

Enjoy some of the highlights from the day!

Looks awesome! Interesting to see so many choose not to wear helmets and impact vests (or pfd's) with how close you get on some of the crosses... i thought it would be mandatory for a race.

It was a great afternoon for Wingfoil racing at the Manly Sailing Club on Sunday!

The sun was shining and the breeze steadily filled in throughout the afternoon. We tried a new course format with reaching starts which worked well indeed.

Great footage.

Would be interesting to see results lined up with the following information:
- Avg. windspeed
- Rider weight
- Wing (make, model, size)
- Front foil (make, model, size)
- Board (make, model, volume)

Curious to see if larger wings and smaller foils outperform smaller wings and medium sized foils. That being said, rider skill as well as race tactics play a large role in results.

It was a fantastic afternoon of wingfoil racing at the Manly Sailing Club last weekend!
The competitors enjoyed a mix of windward/leeward racing and some reaching slalom races.
The new race bibs look great and worked very well for tracking results.
Racing is on this weekend on Sunday 27th November at the Manly Sailing Club and the forecast is looking fantastic!

Wind looks quite light, what's the race minimum? I need a 13+ knot gust for my gear.
