Hi All - It's great to see so much enthusiastic activity on the forum about the Wing.
KA have recently made an announcement that we have negotiated with our insurer to include Wind Wings / Wing Foils / Wind Winds etc.. under our overarching policy & membership (full announcement - www.kiteboardingaus.com.au/news/wind-wings-included-kiteboarding-australia-membership/ ). For those who don't kite or aren't aware of our current membership - this includes public liability and personal accident insurance recreationally and in events. vinsurancegroup.com/kiteboarding/
KA have also recently begun working with the Global Wingsports Association to include the Wing into what we do in relation to events and sports development, and as an organisation we are keen to establish a Wing committee to help us steer what our association can offer the Wing community.
If you are interested in being part of this, we'd love to hear from you - our email is contact@kiteboardingaus.com.au
It's great that wingers are covered under the kite member policy. Windsurfers who are members of their state association are covered when winging under the Australian Windsurfing Association $20m third party public liability policy. The first sanctioned wingfoil racing that I know in NSW is happening with this weekend at Marmong Point on Lake Macquarie. See forums/windsurfing/NSW/NSW windfoil & wingfoil series 20/21. Format to be determined.
