Sorry to ask a noob question, I've researched and cannot find much information about this hydrofoil. Its a Ride Engine Futura 24 mast, and the foil appears to be a 'Colugo' front wing which has a span of 68cm: www.mackiteboarding.com/2019-ride-engine-colugo-68cm-front-wing/The fuselage is fairly standard I think (heavy though) and rear stabiliser wing is 42cm span. The whole thing is pretty weighty. I've been dabbling in kite-foiling with it, and it seems to go OK for that, but I am looking to try winging and wondering whether this will simply not be the right kind of hydrofoil for that, or whether I might be able to get some use out of it if I make some adjustments (track placement, rear and front wing placement on fuselage etc.) and use it to learn to wing.Any advice is appreciated.

It'll work. I surfed on for a period coupla years back until it sank to the bottom of the ocean.
yes it's very heavy, and not a big foil. Depending on your weight you'll need a lot of wind, or wing, or both...and 60cm is on the short side. But better than nothing.

thanks for that! these things are also compatible with slingshot foils so I guess it could be possible to get a bigger front wing. But anyway, I appreciate the response.
I had the slingshot version of that foil once upon a time. Think it might have been my first foil. I used it a lot on the windsurfer, before winging was a thing. Foils have seriously evolved since that foil was created. you'll be much better finding a bigger foil for winging. Slingshot infinity 76 or 84 work well with that fuse. A longer mast will also be more enjoyable. Otherwise get yourself onto a black series Axis setup.
I know a guy who wings on this foil and absolutely rips on it. I used to have one for windfoiling and am interested in getting a cheap used one again to make winging a bit more exciting than it currently is on my Infinity 84.
