Anyone know where I can find specs (span, weight.) for the various Vayu wings? They don't appear to be anywhere on the website.
also, weight for the click bar vs handles or boom? Wondering what the weight penalty is for the convenience.
which model between Aura iii, Aura x2 or Eos would be the best for low end/ lighter conditions? Smaller span, lighter, gruntier, Something that feels smaller than its size. Thinking 5 or 5.5 size for this wing.
Hi
about the span I don't know exactly. the span of the EOS < AURAs. the one who generate more pumping for the light wing is the aura X2.
I have standard boom but click boom is almost the same weight. Maybe 20g heavier so basically the same. aura III is really good as well.

maybe this can help you as well :
That's helpful thanks. wonder if I could get by with 5 x2/ 4 aura3 / 3m or if I need to do 5.5 x2 / 4.5 aura 3 / 3m. I like to spend as much time on 5m and below as possible.
Anyone seen any comparison between the aura X2 (or aura iii) vs the ozone flux? I really like the 4.2 and 3m flux (and flow) but the 5.7 flux just feels huge (even though it's a super lightwind session saver sometimes).
here we go:

Thanks a lot! Couldn't find it anywhere - where'd you find that? any way to post a link to the full sheet? Are the x2 dims on there too?
I have only 3 sessions with the Aura3 5m but so far i,m really impressed!Compared to the Flux the wing is new a tad softer/less rigid but very early to get on foil. The handles are a bit closer to the strut, but due the cut out no issues and they feel as having smaller diameter+stiffer and better placed. With the Flux I was 90% of the time with the front handle pretty much as much to the front as I could go. With the Aura3 its nice in the middle with room to go up or down.
Again: quick to ghet on the foil, it a nice breathing profile (Unlike the 2025 Duotone SLS where I couldnt get along and found it too stiff). In strong gusts the wing doesbnt become jerky but doesnt accelate Flux style either. It absorbs it and has a decent speed but it isnt a racer.
Tacking: as good as.
Jibes; Aura3 feels more maneuvrable and playfull
Flagging: better then pretty much anything I tried. I loved surfing the flux, but this one outperforms it.
Jumping: I ride strapless so have no clue!
Can,t comment on the 4 (still new in the bag) and the 3..arrives end of march, but so far really really happy with the 5m

Good commentary. Sounds like it is gruntier at the low end than the flux but flys lighter and more playful (per your comment on gybes and luffing). I like the sound of that and can give up some of the flux power for those features.
I am surprised that the span is actually larger than the flux, which feels pretty spanny to me. Would love to see weight posted for the Vayu wings.
unfortunately I've been waiting for that flux 2 for so long that Ozone may have lost me. Now just need to decide whether to go with 5.5/4.5 or 5/4 and whether I should go aura iii or x2 for the larger size. Going to keep my 3m flow which I still like a lot and has plenty of life left.
I think the best compliment I can give it, is that it feels like I use it for ages. very familar and no bad habbits.
I have the flow in some sizes and like it (will keep the 3m in the quiver). The aura specs (for what they are worth) look closer to the flux (wider span, higher AR than the Flow), but apparently lighter. I pulled the trigger on a 5.5 x2 and a 4.5 aura 3 to replace my 5.7 and 4.3 flux wings and will report back in a few weeks. Hoping for lighter and more playful feel (particularly on the 5.5), good luffing and looking forward to trying a boom and slightly tighter size spacing. The ozone wings just feel pretty heavy - I don't think the wings are overly heavy themselves but the handles are overbuilt and you can feel it. Hope I don't lose too much of the drive of the flux though - the 4.3 is a beast of a wing.
Nice set-up!
From just using only the 5m the differences are bigger as you can see on a spreadsheet. Stuff like specs don,t say anything about profile and that is what makes a wing feel different. The Flux feels bigger and more solid to me, performance orientated? where the Vayu is imo more friendly, softer and playfull. Windrange seems to be pretty good so far, but havent tested the absolute max yet.

Totally understood and agree re: specs. Your description is what I expect and want from the wing. Just trying to piece together any info I can in the overall void of info. I must say Vayu does a pretty poor job with info.
Can the click boom be used in in a pistol grip?
I dont know but I ordered one and will report back shortly. If its not solid I won't be keeping it. I also don't understand why the click boom works for all wing sizes, yet if you buy a standard boom you need to specify the wing size.

I'm pretty sure the click boom only got introduced with the Aura III, one boom for 3.5m - 5.5m. Not tall enough at the front for a pistol grip but just as stiff in use as the standard screw on carbon boom.
I think there was an error on the video and aura 2, 3 and X2 have the same length boom but only aura 3 and x2 have the click boom system.
The x2 definitely isn't compatible with the click boom. Just tried to install it and it's about 1.5" too short on my 5.5.
does anyone know the inflation specs on the x2 wings? They aren't written on the wing and there isn't a manual included.
I received my order of a 5.5m x2 and a 4.5m aura iii. Intend to keep my 3m Ozone Flow in the quiver, but depending on how I like the Aura and what I find for the wind range on the 4.5, I might add a 3.5 aura iii. TBD. I will be riding these wings next week and will report back with my experience.
I bought these wings without demo (there are barely any US dealers and no opportunity to demo), but they came highly recommended by other riders, the online reviews were very positive, and I like the innovative use of materials. To some extent I feel like a test dummy, since the info available is very sparse. Vayu's website is very thin on details and even the manual linked for the wings is for a 3 year old product. I reached out to Vayu with questions, but didn't hear back for three weeks (after I had bought the product), and the US dealers don't have a lot of knowledge around the product either. Slightly concerning and I just hope that if there is ever a warranty issue or if I need replacement parts it isn't a total headache. They could really improve the details provided on their site and their communication with the market.
The good news is that the wings are aesthetically beautiful and seem extremely well built and designed. The seams are very clean and the details are excellent.
Each wing came a bag, leash, repair kit, and two sets of handles (of course no manual). The bags are identical between the wings and both very nice although the x2 came in a Cordura material bag and the Aura 3 comes in a lighter nylon bag (which I prefer). The bags are kind of heavy and I may use more minimalist bags to keep weight down while travelling. The bags are quite large, have multiple pockets, and extend further to accommodate a boom. The second set of handles are a firmer soft handle, almost like the Fone hybrid handles. Not sure I'll ever use them, but I may experiment with a soft handle in back as I found this worked quite well on a previous setup I used (I liked the control of the front handle, but the soft rear handle dampened gusts). The repair kit is very basic (more basic than I've seen from other manufacturers). The leash itself seems pretty good, although it is attached to the wrist cuff. I attach my leash to my harness and I prefer leashes that allow me to detach the wrist cuff. As such, I probably won't end up using this leash.
The hard handles come mounted on the wings. The handles are identical between the x2 and Aura III, and the front and rear handle are the same. Both handles are quite long, TBD whether it will be long enough to fly one handed from the front handle. They are very lightweight, nice diameter and have a grippy padding. Assuming the positioning is good, I think I'm really going to like these. Each handle detaches with a 4 bolt system (2 bolts in front and two in back of each handle - 8 bolts total per wing). It takes 5 mins to detach both handles and is very intuitive although keeping track of the smaller bolts and washers is not a job for the beach.
The luff handles on each wing are identical and they seem perfect. Very firm, enough space to grab and I expect they will provide very good control. 100% perfect.
The wings themselves are beautiful. The wings use the FOne style pin valve / Sup valve, but you need to twist the pin before opening or closing it. Could be hard to do with gloves or cold fatigued hands, but overall no problem. The x2 has two of these valves, but it also functions as a one pump system with the strut and LE bladders attached. The Aura iii has one of these valves on the LE, which is connected to the strut. The Aura iii does NOT have a strut valve, but has a simple dump valve on the strut. The hose connection between the bladders includes a clamp. My preference would be to keep the bladders disconnected from eachother as the connection hose just offers another place of failure, adds weight, and makes a bladder replacement slightly more of a headache. Having two full valves as well as the connection seems like overkill on the x2, and I would rather have the ability to pressurize the valve and LE separately on the Aura iii, which isn't possible. Minor complaint, but not a big deal.
The materials all seem great, but the x2 is clearly the premium wing (also shows up in the pricetag). I like how the Aura iii uses Aluula Aeris X at the critical point on the LE, which should add stiffness, but keeps the price down. The rest of the Aura iii frame appears to be a pretty standard dacron. The x2 has full aluula strut and LE although they use both Aeris X (front of the leading edge) and Aeris X (wingtips and strut). Having experience with Aluula gold (and some delamination issues) These materials feel quite a bit different. The Aeris is more supple than Gold, and the Aeris X is stiffer with reinforcements. I'll reserve judgment on how effective and durable the materials are until I ride the wings, but everything is clean and well integrated. There are nice kevlar reinforced bumpers throughout.
The canopy on both wings appears to be identical and has pretty standard and very lightweight 2x2 ripstop for 95% of the material. The only place I could find the 5x5 is the last couple inches of the trailing edge. Overall the canopies for both wings are light, but nothing particularly innovative. The Xply windows seem really nice and the fabric at least feels like it will offer a similar stiffness to the rest of the canopy. I think this material feels a lot nicer than what most other brands are using. I like how the battens are well integrated into the canopy (vs Ozone where the battens feel like a flimsy afterthought).
I also received the click boom although I'm not sure whether I'm going to keep it or not. The boom won't work for my 5.5m x2 (slightly too short), although I suspect it MIGHT work for a 5m. The boom itself is very nice diameter, and the same grippy padding as the handles. The clip posts feel a bit like "prototypes" rather than a finished product, but very functional. It doesn't click in seamlessly, you need to wiggle and force it slightly, but that might not be a bad thing. I had concerns that it could unclip while riding, but I don't think that is likely based on playing around with it. It seems very stiff and secure. As others have stated, it is a little cramped to use in a pistol style grip. One concern I have is how it will hold up to sand. Time will tell. FYI, multiple sources had alluded to the fact that the next generation x2 (x3?) will be compatible with the click boom. The major flaw of the boom is that it does NOT come with covers for the exposed strut bolts that would have been holding the removed handles. These stick out and seem like they would easily bloody my knuckles. My understanding is that the fixed boom includes these covers, but the click boom doesn't for some reason? I also don't see these for sale anywhere which seems like a big oversight. I could easily imagine a 3D printed piece that would cover these bolts, although I don't have any knowledge of 3D printing myself. No information on this, but I would bet they come up with a more refined v2 version of this product as it lacks some polish.
As the prior poster said (thank you), the x2 is intended for 8 psi on ALL sizes, although some riders are riding it up to 9.5. The Aura iii has pressure instructions on the valve (not sure if they differ from size to size).
I took the time to write this for others who may be considering these wings, as the information generally available was really bad. Hopefully this is helpful. I can address other questions that come up, and will provide my impressions of performance sometime soon. Not sure I'll have time to weigh the wings before riding, but maybe.

does anyone know the inflation specs on the x2 wings? They aren't written on the wing and there isn't a manual included.
I was not thinking like this but I think you are right about the click boom.
all the aura (2, 3 and X) have the same lenght standart boom but only the III has the 5th insert to have an unique lenght click boom.

Can you clarify this? Are you saying that the front bolts on the front handle and rear bolts on the rear handle are the same distance on all of these wings and all sizes? If you look at the Vayu website it shows different size (and price) booms depending on the size, so I was under the impression that the boom length differed from size to size. In fact I reached out asking to buy a standard boom for my x2 5.5 and was told it wouldn't be compatible with my 4.5m aura iii (where the boom is out of stock).
Based on how close the click boom is to fitting the 5.5m, I think maybe the click boom is sized for the 5m x2 and each size of the aura has secondary mount points to accommodate this fixed size. Conversely, I think the 5m fixed boom might be the same size as the click boom and might work on all sizes of Aura due to the secondary mount points.
But maybe I'm wrong. Another Vayu mystery!
I gonna try to explain it well. :)
Each size of an aura wing (II , III and X2) has 1 lenght standard boom. So for example if you have a standard boom of an X2 4,5 it will fit for the Aura II 4,5 and Aura III 4,5
but The Aura III (the last Aura they made) has a 5th insert that makes 1 unique click boom fit from 5,5 size to 3,5.
(I didn't check but by logic the click boom will fit also on Aura II and X2 but only for 5,5 size.)
Personnaly I use only standard boom on all my wings (Aura X2 5 + 4,5 , Aura III 3,5 , Aura II 3) but I saw the click boom system in the shop and it looks really strong and easy to click on or click out in 2 seconds. I hope I was clear.

Think you are correct - except I believe it is the 5.0 X2 that may fit click boom. all others would need the 5th insert - which only on the Aura III & I assume upcoming Eos v2.

Well I suppose by logic if the click boom fit until 5.5 then the Aura III in this size has only 4 inserts instead of 5 for the smaller sizes.
