Anyone have recommendations on how to pack and travel wing foil gear on airlines, especially a board? Not really interested in inflatable boards.
This foil specific travel bag looks like an interesting option but max length is 4'10" and my board is 5'5":
Sounds like longer bags are coming.
I assume you still have to protect the nose, tail, and rails with cardboard -- I saved the packaging from my F One v2 wing 5"5 so planning to use that, the box is toast though -- otherwise a drop on the wrong place could ding the board. Any tips other than to follow what the same approach as shops/manufacturers do when they ship boards?
Unfortunately not a lot of foil board rentals at most destination and probably cheaper to pay the oversized luggage fees... so long as the board doesn't get damaged.
