So 40 years ago we had a thriving custom slalom & waveboard manufacturing market.

I guess we lost heaps over the years, and there's still a few niche surfboard makers that dabble, but I want to hear about Australian manufactures of custom wingfoil boards.

I specified Australian because I know we have a bunch of outside Australia people on these forums these days, but I want to promote the Aussie guys building good boards.

Let's hear what ya got...

Our local manufacturer is Carbonco, they specialise in wingfoil and kitefoil boards here at Clontarf in Queensland. The owner is a kitefoiler and winger so designs and tests their boards. All boards are custom built to your specs or you can order a standard design.

I just got a new 4 6 amos raptor (new model) for prone. $1500 - full carbon vac bagged with strap inserts. It's about the same as the equivalent armstrong board which I believe has a pvc sandwich on top laminate and the longer stronger FG foil boxes. Although the features arent similar to the armstrong, the fact it is locally made made up for this. The quality is top notch and ride is amazing.

Would also recommend carbonco also a very high quality offering locally made.

Cheers Mate and thanks for thinking of us, as much as i would love to make the entire board here in Aus the way we make them we just can't really do it here the same and keep it any way possible at the price we do. If we were just doing them vacuum bag or carbon skin then maybe but we choose a different way. We do do pretty much everything we can here but i think these guys were asking if the labor side to make the boards is done here in Aus and for us, we make our boards in Vietnam in the Kinetic factory which i am more than happy with.

Have a couple of OES Port Lincoln boards. A 4'6" 35l prone (that I wing on too when its windy enough) and a 60l wing board. I'm pretty new to the whole wing thing but they seem to go great, I love the 4'6 ....once I'm up. The thing I like about Rossy's designs are how quickly he is evolving from feedback from people riding his boards. He's been sandwich vacuum bagging for years so has that side of things nailed. Highly recommended.

JPD Surf just south of Wollongong.
He has made shortboards, SUPs & foil & wing boards.
And he rides & tests them.
They look awesome too.
