Any riders here who've had the opportunity to try both wings? How do they compare? I've only had 20 minutes on the 4m Takuma but was impressed with its speed, upwind ability, and lift. It did seem like it was geared for more experienced riders as it was a very active feeling wing (lots of direct feedback and a precise feel relative to looser, more deep-draft wings). The PPC looks great but I've not seen any locally.

Doesn't seem to be too many WingRides in OZ... think you will get more PPC fans here. There is a strong Maui contingent including KD maui(Kane DeWilde) on them besides, obviously the Takuma crew in Tahiti & New Caledonia. + for WingRide is after sale support in North America is handled by Chinook...

Haven't tried the takuma wings but seen local guys rip on their foils - so I assume their wings could be really good as well. Ppc gives that direct feel you mention but also easy to use. Don't think you could go wrong with either.

The WRIII is the same wing as the Ensis, just slightly diff materials, so maybe that helps finding someone who used both.

If you cannot test and want to buy, take about .5 less than most wing on the market to complete your quiver. I don't know if they measure in projected area vs surface erea, but all testers are saying the same. It's a powerful wing and also more tissue something to know if you are mixing wings brand.

Jeroensurf,
Do you mean that the wingride III is just a rebranded Ensis, or that they are just very similar? Thanks in advance.

I don't know the back story or all the details but the Wingride guys having been working on Wings for quite a while even before hooking up with Takuma & the WRIII is the 3rd gen Wing..
