Looking for input on the Takoon Comet as a first board for a flat water winger at 65kg (thinking the 5'3" 95L).

Given what seems to be largely positive reviews of the Takoon wings, and the very friendly pricing, I was surprised to not find more discussion of their boards (aside from Hadou Brunner looking at the CW models in French).

I'm thinking of going with a couple of their wings, and perhaps this board to start off, and investing more in the foil system (leaning toward Lift)...

Im curious too. I heard of durability issues in last years boards, but it appears they have revamped their construction entirely. The new construction they are advertising looks pretty similar to Appletree (best in the business IMO) - and also manufactured in Portugal. hmm.

Then again...the direct to consumer model means retailers, who do so many youtube reviews, aren't in the mix...so perhaps not so surprising

A friend has one of the Portuguese ones.
Compared to a Naish Ultra Hover they are heavy and ding prone.

Btw i have 4 Takoon wings and absolutely love them.
Nothing against the brand, but the board was a bit dissapointing.

I've bought the Comet SW 4'10 85L (version 1) in December 2020. It's had lots of use in waves, jumps and 2 trips to Tenerife. Seems very robust and had no issues with it. The original Takoon foot straps only lasted a few months but I switched to some really nice one from Groove kiteboards.

Are you sure you want 95L? That's going to feel really big after a few hours winging. I'm 80 kg and was happy with the 85L after a few months of winging.
