Purchased a second hand Stoke Boost foil drive. The battery has a plastic retaining ring that screws on to the main motor body to keep said ($900+) battery in place. Plastic ring has worn and plastic thread has partially broken away. Does anyone have a fix for such an issue? Plastic ring appears not to be removable or replacable. A nine hundred dollar battery held in place with a fifty-cent non-removable plastic ring.

I have heard of the batteries fully breaking away and being lost. Get onto Boost for a replacement part or buy a Foildrive.

interesting. i bought a used early version stoke foil and the battery retainer is metal not plastic - why don't you contact them to see if there is a fix? so far quite happy with my unit compared to the fda+ i had previously.

I'd give them a call. They're very responsive. I've also had a really positive experience with my Stoke unit.
