I see advantages and disadvantages with one design classes. the main disadvantage is that the sport progresses technologically and the class starts to look unattractive. so an upgrade cycle could be useful. say 2 years or so for a new wing and 4 years for a new foil...

The sport is still too young to do this , let it evolve plenty more to come. Same with the boards and foils
