Thumbs Up

Starboard / Airush Freewing Air V5 - Sizes 4 / 5 / 6 - Ocean & Flat Water

I have been on Starboard/ Airush wings for 4+ years & the V5 is a clear step up in both build and performance.

Observations:

Frame tension: Ultra X fabric loads efficiently-noticeably better power transfer and frame stability which looks like it will result in the shape of the wing maintaining for a longer period

Pressure tolerance: Leading edge and struts handle higher PSI, resulting in a stiffer, more reactive wing / though you do have to take control and make sure it goes in the right part of the sky

Aspect ratio: The Medium aspect improves low-end lift and seems to make the wing more forgiving across sizes.

Boom control: The new Boom is a major upgrade- & helps with precise hand placement and particularly makes tacks easier

Packability: Packs differently than previous gens-minor adjustment curve but you soon get used to it

On-water feel: Power delivery is smooth and progressive. Getting up on foil is easier, especially in marginal wind. The 4m is punchy and nimble; the 6m remains surprisingly manageable. Overall, a well-balanced, user-friendly wing with solid performance gains.
