88l Armstrong wingSUP. 85A+ mast. Can gybe, 85kg 185lb.
Using 1550V2 with 232 stab and 2 red shims. Just got HA195 and worked up to1 red shim (add blue next).
Any recommendations on stab and shims to use with MA1000 arriving soon?

Hi, a 205 and 235 are on the way. Ask your local dealer to preorder. sounds like the 205 is the right one for you

I have 95 kg and preordered the 1225 + 235. I'm riding the 1850 + 232 +85A+. All I have heard does the 1000 + 205 suits good if I look at your quiver. Others with experience? Still unsure about the new mast.. Costs are high, hmmmm

90kg running 1225 on 935 mast with HA195 tail. Red shim seemed to be moving my stance too far back and (I think) created a downward pitching effect at speed that I've not felt before on my HAs. Will try less shim next time. Glide was excellent and pump was great though. Mast fully forward in boxes. Would like 5cm more forward. The new mast is a HUGE upgrade. Very happy.

I recently went all in with a 935 mast and MA1000 and have about 250km on it now ranging from underpowered 5m to over powered 4m with good size swell. I started with 1 red shim on the 195 which is what I've been running happily with all my HA and HS foils on the A+ mast. After 3 goes fighting pitch control someone mentioned they have changed the foil to mast angle so I decided to go back to factory default and no shim. I also moved the mast back to 5.5 on a 75lt FG and the result was complete balance. It's an awesome foil so stable and easy to ride fast. My wave speeds are higher than 925 because of better control but that might also be the mast in play. So my advice is start with no shim and play with the track position.

Likewise - no shim and mast is back to where it was using A+

Keep it simple.

72L KT Wing Drifter. Great to hear about the similar pitchy feeling KB7 was getting from his MA1000 that I felt from the 1225 with red shim. Looking forward to using no shim next time. Funny, the foil still felt amazing despite the poor pitch stability I forced on it using the red shim at my weight.

Warning- shameless plug. My 14 marlin for Armstrong is similar to the 195, but creates less drag and more consistent foot pressure. Mostly tested on MA1000 with 795 mast and 725 on 85 a+, both 60 fuselage. Can run both the red and blue shim combined before it gets too pitchy. Same takeoff as the 195, up for debate if the slightly lower span improves turning. Standout feature is the glide.
Makes tacks easier and creates tons of drive in turns.

I suspect the Armstrong tails will be quite good. They're very thin with a pronounced camber. This usually results in a fast and stable high speed. Extra chord should help with stall at lower speeds that happens with these kind of sections. These tails should be very predictable, following the MA design philosophy. I'm excited to try them!

I initially was shrugging these off because I love the 195, but started wondering if the 205 might help make the 525 more ridable by adding more pitch stability. I think I'm going to give it a go.

Thank you. I was in two minds about what these new MA stabs will offer over the 195, but it sounds like they are a good addition to the (never ending) collection.
