Anyone ridden head-to-head, and thoughts?
Smik vs Slick/Unit?
I hear good things about both but haven't actually got feedback from anyone who has ridden each brand.
I just replaced my Smik with a 2023 Unit this summer.
Not a fair comparison as I haven't ridden the V3 Smik. But if all I did was surf and downwind the Smik would be my preference.
The 2023 Unit is quite different from the Smik, as its heavier and more powerful for its size. Best all around wing I've owned.
I demo'd both and for me I free ride, surf and riding ocean swells I found the following:
Smik had better bottom end
Unit had more range of wind, more top end
Smik was very balanced to go from flagging to handle and backwards and forwards.
close call as to what to get, both were great wings.
