Hi all,
wingfoiling since two month with 85KG I bought the wingcraft v1 90L.
As I'm foiling on a lake in germany with gusty winds we tested the low end of two baords yesterday:
88L Indiana (2021)
90L Wingcraft v1
My friend who is more experienced in low end pumping could pump the indiana board round 2 knots earlier out of the water as the wingcraft. Foil on both board: PTM899 + 360 V rear wing Mast 103W. Foilposition at wingcraft at 2 cm.
In the air the wingcraft is a relly very nice board and I love it to fly. But getting it so late to fly is frustrating.
So my question: Is this a general issue of the board? Or does the board need a special technik to pump?
Any tipps or tricks? Would be great and thanks a very lot in advance!!
Flying greetings
Michael
(P.S. Sure for real low wind we will use bigger foils like PFI928, E990, E1090 etc.)

The 90L V1 is around 27" wide I think, so it's a little sticky if you do not have good pumping technique.
Bear away more to get board speed before pumping the board up and make sure you have plenty wing power.
Move the foil forward in the tracks, its been a while but I think I had it around #4 or #5 ??
The ptm899 is an amazing foil (I use that front wing alot) but does require a bit more wind than say the G900 or G1000
Hi Dean,
thanks for your hints and experience.
Yeah, you describe exactly what I feel also on the board. If there is less pressure in the wing it's quite impossible to bring the board to ground speed that it needs for take off.
When the pressure in the wing is enough to push the board forward it works. But at low end wind conditions this is often not the case at it seems that a flat shape like the new V2 or Indiana or Duotone Sky Free have here a better potential for take off. Have you observed also something like that?
I'll try to move the foil more forward. But from the past I detected there no improvement. The PTM899 needs out of my point of view a flat angle to start flying.
Thanks a very lot and have a great day.
Cheers Michael

Hi Michael
Are you using foot straps on the board? I always found pumping the board is better with foot straps as you can really lock the feet in and use the top of the foot in the strap to really lift it up. I have not tested the other boards you mention, so I do not have anything to compare too.
Still think you would get earlier lift especially with the G1000 at your weight, I have to be pump really, really aggressive with the ptm899 to unlock it.
