Not my language ?? but that wrist leash looks way too small?
And not really enough Velcro overlap.. ![]()
From my understanding the V3 will have more power and so you can use a smaller wing.
So a 4.5 will feel like a 5.0 etc. Haven't tested one yet not due in the U.S. until September?
Those handles look good for cold climate winging with mitts, but I have seen better leash cuffs on dollar bodyboards, not sure what they were thinking here, that is going to suck if it has to go around my wetsuit and mitt covered wrist.
$@%@! I just bought a Sling Wing V2!!!!!!!
V2 are fantastic wings (I've tested a few others and would still get a V2) even when the V3 comes out it maybe a while because of shipping issues so you'll be good for quite a while, enjoy it!
Looks like there's a demand for big light wind wings -- 7.5 metre V3!
Well ,for huge guys in really low wind conditions it sounds fine but consider this:
A 6m with 11.2kt will give the same lift as a 7.5m with 10kt.
You get a 1.2kt advantage, which actually may be less or none if you are not tall enough to pump the 7.5 efficiently.
And it gets worse at lower windspeeds.
For me 5m is the max i want to ride now (1.76cm/70kg) and very often i am sorry i did not risk going with the 4m.
My pumping technique still has a lot of room for improvement, mostly in coordinating the sail pumps with the board pumps and when water is choppy.
Finessing the foil pump&angle on those last strokes as the board rises a teeny bit is hard but when i randomly get it right it is like a magic trick.Same with using a chop, timing is tricky for me.
When i first heard pros claiming in interviews that they could get on foil with a 4m and 6kt i thought it was
a joke, i am nowhere near that but now i believe them :).

I agree that wings over 5M are unneccesary for most humans. Every winger I know goes through the "I need bigger wing" phase. Technique is everything. I have been at it for 2 years and I can get up on my 3M when others(1st year wingers) are on 6 and 7M. Not that my 3m is the right choice but just to put it in perspective. I am happy on my 4.5 Dart most days. Only gripe about the Dart is its unsettled flag out. I will get a V3 for this reason to have for wave/bump riding. Being underpowered on the wing has been getting more fun for me, once I figured out how to get up efficiently. Watching the holes coming and being able to pump the foil through them is fun. As I get better at tapping into the energy that small wind swells have, I find less need for power. Also, I have developed a bit of winger's elbow pain lately. I have been riding with a harness as a result and now I can stay out all day. Send it!!!
You are obviously less than 90kg
You are obviously less than 90kg
I am 83kg. Even heavier wingers, I believe, will inevitably have a 5ish as their biggest. I think that most mid sized wings can be pumped properly to get up most wingers. Of course there will be exceptions. Like if your local wind tops out at 8 knots of piss wind. If I can get a gust of around 10knots, I am up and then can maintain at less wind. This took me 2 years of practice to get here. Every generation of new wing packs more power for its size, therefore reducing the need for giant wings even more. I am now more patient that ever while waiting for the right puffs. Foiling for me is all about subtle, well timed movements. Last year it was about muscle. 2 years ago it was all about my 7M and 2000sqcm foil. This year, in the same conditions, I am usually on a 4.5 and a 1200sqcm foil.
I think you're going to see the top pros on large wings and smaller foils for racing -- especially in light gusty winds. At some point I believe there will be wings specifically designed for racing -- it wouldn't surprise me if there were 8.0 metre race wings developed in the future.
Here's Balz Muller on an Ensis 6.2 while racing in light gusty conditions.

How do we know it's the 6.2m. It looks smaller to my eye.
if this is the same day and race from the other thread, when he is being interviewed you can see it is a 5.2, dont know if that was the wing he was racing on or not.

Also, they did away with the Y straps, Y would they do that???? They're so convenient in the transitions.

Many wings have no Y strap, I learned with them but my current wings don't have them. Now, if I had an option to have them or not like Naish, I would leave them off, life is just simpler and lighter.

Well, how do we know he (Balz Muller) was on a 6.2 metre wing? Because he said he was riding the following equipment: "...raw wild and uncut clip from the full fleet funrace at the foilfestival 2021. it was a blast! wind: gusty-turning 6-16kn gear: mb 78l ensis 6.2 sabfoil 799/399 mast92."
Time to get those old eyes checked. ![]()

That was the first Version, the wrist leash is bigger now.
Anybody have the psi specs on these wings? I just saw that the 4.5m is 10psi, which is pretty impressive. Curious about the other sizes.
Not my language ?? but that wrist leash looks way too small?
definitely. I suspect he's complaining about it in German. Not sure why some manufacturers can't figure out that leash cuffs need to go around the wetsuited wrists of adult men, otherwise the wing looks decent.
Demo-ed today the V3 in 4.5 on a lake.First of all its a beauty! craftsmanship is so far with Ozone the best I have seen and the 4.5 is serious light. I had to borrow a pump because my Duotone pump had troubles with getting it on the recc 10psi.
really like the bungee leash Cuff was perfect, even for a 5mm wintersuit.
On the water the handles are a bit like the Ensis, but a bit wider. While the ensis are imo a bit on the tight side, this one are a bit too wide/floppy in the jibes. low end was imo pretty good, cruising up+downwind as well but in strong gusts it has the tendency to wanna rock up and down instead of absorbing. It made me wonder if that industry race of who gets the stiffest rig is a good thing because my Smik and starboard V1 wings absorb big hits better.
downwind I was able to pump a +/- 100m on the bumps and when flagged it was nice and neutral.
Hopefully I can try it soon in the waves and think that will be a trait.

I was able to spent some time with new V3 in 6.5m that a friend got as a birthday present. Low end grunt is great, but it definitely has a speed-limiter. I am now used to the 6.3m Ennis Score which can go pretty fast. I do not like the floppy handles, you can twist them 180 degree and the hands are racing at the strut. The forward 50% of the front-handle are useless, you only need the rear part for proper handling. But what really annoyed me was the heavy back-stalling. Foiling upwind was very hard as there is a certain angle of attack where there front just flips from pulling to pushing. I even got pushed from the board once. I only flew one wing with similar issues and that was the Cabrinha Crosswing x2. And foiling on small lakes with lots of others, I really miss any kind of window. Last weekend we were 35 wingers on a small ( like maybe 800m wide) lake... It really want to test one of the smaller V3s to see if that is only a problem of the bigger size. Like the Ozone V2, 4m and 5m are great wings, but the 6m is so badly balanced with the handles at the wrong spot.

I heared about the same regarding the V3 6.5 from a Slingshot rep. He said it felt like a "Star Destroyer", which translates to me as "big and heavy feeling".
I have an new Ozone V2 6 too and also felt like the rear handles could be positioned a little more rearward, but i was blaming myself for being not accustomed to the new wing coming from a 6.4 Slingwing V2.

I kind agree and disagree. Yes you can get in 10 knts with a 1200 and a 4.5, that is remarkable! If it's the case, you would probably get in going in 8-9knts with a 800cm foil however...and in lulls....less drag on the foil...and a lot faster. So yes, I agree you can have a maximum of a 5m and cover a hell of range! But recent 7m(i own a f-one cwc 7m)...is not what it used to be 2 years ago for sure.
