Any advice from someone who happended to have tried both.or at least one of them.differences / highlights to considerBoth high end boards that is clear. Intended For wingibg in flatwater. Weight 75kg 184cm. Thanks for input guys
Love my FG 60L Armstrong. Friend is claiming a warranty on deck bubble delam on his new fanatic. Not sure which model or year. He picked mine up and was surprised by how light it was. If you have an Armstrong foil, I'd go Army.
Thanks - so you mean that the fact that I have an Armstrong foil (have the 1850 Armstrong) warrants the board also to be Armstrong and not Fanatic?
Fanatic boards have the track boxes further back so they suit Axis & GoFoil better.
Armstrong FG boards have longer 320mm track boxes and they are further forward to suit Armstrong foils.
The 1850 should be fine with the aft biased fanatic tracks. If you go HA or smaller wings down the road, the FG tracks are nice to have to prevent giant rear leg syndrome.
If you have an Armstrong foil get the Armie board
.I'm 85Kg and use the 75L Version which sinks about 10cm but it's very stable underwater and comes up on foil easier than my old 90L . I would recommend anyone who is good at getting up on foil and makes most gybes to go negative 10 with these new boards. The reason you want the Armie board is track position. My friend has the new Fanatic TE 85L when we match up the rear of the boards my foil is 150mm forward of his which is way forward of the Fanatic boxes.
This is important to get the perfect balance which for me is a very slight positive front foot pressure. Once you get it right the board feels weightless on the water it's weird it's feels much smaller almost like riding my old kitefoil board.
The concave deck is very comfortable and foot-strap position is perfect . It's also made pumping easier due to the perfect balance and the front bounces back up if you touch down while pumping.
The Fanatic TE is a very nice light board but if you already have the Armstrong foil it's a no brainer.

The comment t about the weightless feeling is spot on. I'm at the -5L sizing and I recently had the best session with the 925 dialed for the conditions and it was so light and reactive it felt like my tiny prone board.
My friend is looking at them as well and he complains about the non surfy look of them and is hung up on the length instead of volume. The proof is in the pudding when you ride them though. Seriously nothing I can complain about design / quality wise.
I'm 95-100kgs and have a 75L on order, hopefully it will be as easy to start as everyone says even though -20L to -25L
I didn't want to go bigger as usually can only wing in 15+knots in Sydney, none of the 10-12 knot winging happens here
