Thumbs Up

Hi all, here are my first impressions of the Sabfoil B83945K - KIT ONDA BLACK SERIES 83945.

Firstly, a big shout out to the team at Action Sports WA, here in sunny Perth, Western Australia for the continued support.

The kit comes with the M83K Black Series 830 mm mast, the W945 Black Series front wing (1300 cm2) the S430 Black Series Stab (240 cm2), the F703K fuselage and the P02K mast plate all delivered in a Sabfoil box as a kit. The mast is ready for upgrading to the Kraken QR and I highly recommend doing this for ease of use and more water time.

My background. I started off windsurfing back in 2007 and then switched to kite surfing in 2012. More recently, I have been kite foiling on ram air kites and race foils and I started winging over the Christmas hols. I have less that 10 wing sessions under my belt so far.

I decided to start with a fairly large board for my weight 105L for 78kg to help me through the learning process. Knowing that I would be falling off and potentially falling in / onto the board, I went for the standard Fanatic Sky Wing 5'6"..

This means that with the standard Fanatic board and the cheaper Black Series Sabfoil Kit, I have a really high quality set up at a seriously reasonable price.

So.in summary.plug and play and ease of use with really great all round performance.

I was up and foiling straight away and the 945 was steady with no surprises. A couple of pumps on the wing and away she goes. I also like the fact that although there is plenty of glide, the pitch control is very responsive. I can easily adjust pitch based on wind and wave height and the wing is surfy and playful when carving up and downwind. I also found it surprisingly fast. Driving through the back leg I can get great angle at speed (well, speed for me as a beginner).

I will post more reviews as I progress. However, from my initial impressions, this set up will suit any rider with minimal prior water experience looking at getting into winging with top class gear at a reasonable price point.
