Ordered a V4 SMIK late last year and was advised that they now come with a carbon boom (no options for handles). Initially I was surprised at the lack of flexibility for boom or handles but Scotty McK answered my concerns when I DM'd him.
New wing arrived 3rd week of Jan 25
After 5 sessions now, I am absolutely sold on this wing. The rigidity that the boom creates through the strut when seriously powered up is a great improvement. The leech still dumps the excess power, the upwind capability seems the same to me, the changes to the shape of the canopy makes it less fatiguing when powered up.
The V4 (2.0) still has a lot of the great elements that SMIK wings are known for but the one thing very noticeable to me is that I can only get it to flap/flutter when I flag it out during a transition. The rest of the time it is dead quiet which I cannot say about my V3's. Also, great bag with room for other bits when packing.

If you have pictures of your Wing Smik V4 with the boom, it would be cool to post some for us.
Personally I have in my quiver a Smik Wing V2 in 6m? and a North Nova V3 in 7m? and I was wondering if I could not replace these 2 Wings with a Wing Smik V4 ..... Will its low range be as good as my 2 current Wings ???
Because even with a large size (1m89) I do not find it very pleasant to use the big Wings of 7m? and more ...

Is the boom easily removed for packing? Pictures?

Don't need to remove the boom as the new bag is long enough to put it in with the boom attached.

The SMIK v4 with the boom look really nice.

Are the v4 a big up grade on the v3

Do the 6m have good low end

I just recently switched my quiver of Duotone Units to Smik V4 (dual handle not the boom version) I got the 3m, 4.5m and 6m

The unit's standout feature was its low end but I really don't feel I lost much if anything on the smiks. They also flag a lot better (although I'd love to try the new Float model) and they seem have a better wind range and don't top out so quickly. I also enjoy not having the window panels.

Overall happy with the swap, I am intrigued with how the recent Vayu's perform

I have V3 and V4 mixed quiver. I upgraded the V3s to hard handles and there is not much in it between V3 and V4s. The V4s are slightly better in all areas, a refined version. Top end is the biggest area of improvement.

Just used the mounting ends of one of the hard handles from my V3 4m, grabbed some carbon fibre tube and made a boom so that both my V3 and V4 have the same system. I found it a little strange switching between handles and boom after using my V4 5m for a number of sessions.

If among you there are people who have had V2 and V4, is the gain in low range really more important??
If among you there are owners of V4 in 6m?, up to what minimum wind do you use it at what weight??

Can't comment on any other versions as v4 was my first, I'm 70kg and relatively new to the winging game.

With the 6m which I've only had for a month or so, I've got it going in 10kn with a big 110L DW board and foil, it was a session saver but also not hugely fun as it was all about surviving lulls.

On my standard wing board (80L) and medium foil 14kn or so is generally pretty easy with the 6m

My 4.5m get's the most use and has a lot of range but my 3m has also seen more use than I expected for 25kn+ days
