Hi,
Is anyone using either the reverse S399 or S376 stabilisers? Can you provide some feedback on them in the waves?
I'm currently using Slingshot Phantasm with an Onda 835 front wing and Slingshot S400 rear wing (280cm2). I'm looking to loosen things up a bit as the S400 feels a too stable and bit draggy. I shim the Slingshot stab by +0.5 but would really like a smaller more manoeuvrable stab.
I like the look of these SAB stabilisers for wave foiling on wind foil and wing foil setups - but that's only based on their stat sheets and we know they can be misleading,
I'm going to have to modify a stab to use it on the Slingshot fuse so would appreciate some user feedback before dropping the cash on one.

The S399 is my favourite stab. It feels much better than the coarse draggy feel I had when riding the Phantasm with the 400 stab.
The S376 is looser and works well on stable front wings like the 799 with some extra shim angle. I didn't like it with the w1000 or w800 as it made them more pitch unstable.
Both s399/s400 and s376 are crazy sharp. I'd suggest to consider a s370 or s325 or even a s380 as a less sharp option for the waves.
I agree the 376 is too pitch unstable, I used to ride it with the 740 and 1000. I did not find it carvy at all.
For waves the 370 is what you need.
Wished Sab made more proper stabs, they are really lacking compared to the number of front wings they produce....
Hey Alysum, SAB have 11 rear stab options - try Slingshot who only offer 2 and the small one is never in stock or available for demo in Australia. What a joke!!
So what's the difference in feel and performance between the reverse vs flat? The reverse stabs are marketed to have more 'drive' - I was assuming that'd translate to drive for wave carving/bottom turns. Is that the case or is this just marketing BS then?
Thanks again for the feedback.

And no shims either! How on earth do they expect effectively one stabiliser to work un-shimmed with all the different front wings?
