Hey, I'm thinking of heading to Perth or surrounding area for a 3 month working holiday around September/Oct/Nov. I surf, kitesurf, kite foil but would like to learn to prone foil.
What's the area like? I know it's a kite heaven, but what's the surf like? Any spots for a beginner foiler?
Thanks.

Perth generally gets its best swell in winter (May-Sep), and there is only one reef break spot worth surf foiling near Cottesloe. you'd probably need to drive north to Lancelin or south to Mandurah or Margs find waves in those early summer months. My advice would be to get a downwind Sup or long Prone board and learn to ride the ocean bumps in Perth's summer. It is possible to do shore running up the coast on smaller prone boards near Scarborough when it's windy, but you'll need a good pop up and pumping skills.

Where is a good prone foil spot around Lancelin in October and November?

Not Lancelin. Seen too many Great Whites for my liking. That place is a hot spot.
