Another great vid.
Do you ever use your back strap?
Thanks.. and yes.. But I probably have my rear foot out 80% of the time.. Not good I know because in a crash I'd rather have both in than just one and having both in adds more control when recovering from a breach.
I'm still very much learning and I find it hard to move my feet once up on the foil.. When it's windy enough to start off with both feet in the straps it's easier for me to use the rear strap.. I actually find it more comfee foiling with a narrow stance rather than wide one.
I fitted the rear strap but really didn't like it so I have gone back to front straps only. Interested as to other people set up and experience.
I would do the same except that I'd like to be able to jump (one day) and getting air requires the use of both straps.
That makes sense. But if you aren't jumping why would anyone use say just front straps? Is there a reason ?

This is my set up on my windsurfer when foiling. I haven't put any straps on my wingfoil board as yet, was thinking about adding them this weekend. I'd love to get to the point of jumping, so will need both for this eventually.

Yes.. Here is my reason for front straps..
I have found that my front foot position is critical.. and it just needs to be an inch forward or back and it's not working.. The rear foot can move around some without effecting much..
Having some marking or holes in the deck helps to look down and check if your front foot is in that sweet spot but a strap is even better and there's no need to be looking down all the time to check front foot placement.
