Yeah the way he stalls the wing and flies it off the back lines as he goes into a gybe is really interesting. I wonder if this technique could help in lighter winds to maintain line tension?

I've been doing those leading edge down gybes and it does help with gybes in light wind, but if you fly at the wing downwind then the lines will still go slack and the wing will still collapse to your feet. A better solution in light winds is to tack, which does keep the line tension but obviously quite a bit harder to master.
