Parawing as carry on

Putting the feelers out there to see if anyone has travelled with a Parawing and wondering if you can take it carry on or if you have to check it in ??...what do you know ?

Depends how much other stuff you are taking. Board and foil might be important considerations

Just taking a Parawing back home at this point buddy bought it east side and want to bring it back west, the rest of foiling gear is in my shed haha

Paragliders have been taken as cabin baggage for decades, even more lately because of lightweight gear and budget airline travel.

The bar could be a problem. All it takes is a conscientious and imaginative security person to arc up and you've got a problem to deal with.

Speaking for travel in Europe I carried my pocket rocket in my carry on without issues from Amsterdam Airport. I was prepared to have to unpack a PW at security haha but didn't have to.

You can always say it's your parachute

Also doubles as in flight pillow or lumbar support.

We were denied the ability to take a Windsurfing Harness on a flight once, due to the Spreader bar being a possble offensive weapon..

I flew with a harness hook and an extension in my carryon.

I flew back from AWSI with stabs in my carryon. Was wondering if I was gonna get flagged. those suckers are sharp as knives.
