Hey
im on list for a Takoon PW and thinking about board size.
what are ppl finding is the best size board to go for? I'm 82kgs. I use the wing to stabilise my 20" ML board when standing up, I tried balancing without the wing and its tricky.
Advice appreciated.

Hard to give a simple answer so many variables.
I am no expert but after a few goes I can get up on my 5 10 x 21 x 85l with a 900cm2 foil using a 2.9 BRM in solid 25 knots. I am 90kg. Under that I struggle to get the momentum to start, once up its all good. If I made the board, the foil or the parawing larger the amount of wind I need would drop. With more experience I would need less wind.
So go big to learn the basics then drop down just like winging.
I'm 81kgs, just using my 5'3x22", 74lts with the BRM 2.9. The wind needs to be over 17 knots to get going on a 1400sqcm wing, if the wind drops it's a struggle. I've had 3 sessions so far but was foiling immediately on my first session, it's not that hard when you have enough wind.
This vid shows the advantages of a bigger board and foil. He just comes straight up on foil. I tend to flap around a lot ![]()
I have only one quick session under my belt. I am 84kg and used my 68L 6'1"X19"X4" sinker and it worked fine. I will try my 110L 7'6" if its lighter. I was on a brm 4.0 and fireball 1k with skinny 40. Sendit!!!
