I've seen the North Nova wings and Sonar foils, and would love to hear of any user experience, especially on the 1500R front wing
I have the Nova in 5.0 and 3.5 . Great quality build, the best handles l have used and a great wind range. Nothing to fault compared to the rest of the market as far as I am concerned. I don't own one of their foils but have looked at them in my local shop, again the quality looks top notch. Can't comment on performance though as I have not used one.
I own a 4.2 and 6.0 North Nova.
I've had a full season with the 4.2 and it's an excellent wing. Build quality is just top notch. The wing is extremely well balanced.
For all the above reasons I just replaced my 6.0 Takoon with a North Nova 6.0
I only had a single wing skiing session with the new 6.0 and it seems it's more powerful.
I am super interested in the new Sonar foils, HA1250 and HA1450 with carbon mast. They are well priced.
Only thing I can't find much review info on the foils. Really welcome more info on these
I started winging this season and this setup definetly helped me progress a lot. My weight is 80kg and good sessions starts with 13knt.
Nova 5.0
Great quality, stiff construction, pumps very well and I love the handles! I was using Naish wingsurfer 6.0 for a couple of days when I cut the canopy of Nova and was not enjoying it at all. Bigger wing but felt less power. The hands hurt after a 30-minute session.
Seek 5'5''
Takes off quickly, grippy deckpad and dropbox system!
Sonar AL 72 + HA1250 & 1500R
1500R is a really easy and pleasant front wing. Very stable, turns well, and the speed range is quite wide.
HA1250 is a pump machine! I can pump without a wing until my legs fall off. Turning radius is wider than 1500R. When you do a sharp turn it looses the lift.
Quality of Sonar is top notch. All parts fit well. Aluminium mast is quite heavy.
I'm thinking of getting the HA1450 and Nova 6.0 to go into the water with even lighter winds.
Have the Nova 3.5, 4.2 and 5.0. Love the quality and wind range on these wings. Do not like the weight esp the 5.0 is heavy. looking fwd to gen2 of these wings.
I upgraded from my ozone wasps to the north Nova's I have a 2.9/3.5/5.0m I could not recommend them enough the build quality is superb but the handles would have to be the best of any wing I have used double inflation Point and the windows in the right place and at 90 kilos I spend most of my days on the 3. 5m and the 2.9 if they bring out a 2 metre I will be all over it they are that good![]()

Mrwzesinski: what are the best wind ranges for the 1500R and 1250HA?
The fun starts from 14knt. I find both quite similiar. The HA needs a little bit more speed to take off. I can get going on 1500R on 12knt and flat water or get push from a wave. I didn't ride in strong wind as I live on the Sunny Coast ;) Sth around 20knt would be the strongest and had no problems.
