I'm 68 kg intermediate foiler, riding waves when I get the chance, mostly in 17-23 knots. I hit all my gybes and I'm learning to tack; had a couple of open ocean downwinders, and really enjoying trying to connect the bumps. I'm decent riding waves, but not yet graceful by any measure.
I've been riding the Axis HPS 930, on the short fuse with the 375 Progressive tail, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm on a 75L board.

Goals for the year: surf more waves, complete some tacks, and connect pieces of swell downwind. What would people recommend for the next foil? Would a smaller foil (like an HPS700) help out to connect bumps on downwinders? Or would an ART get me more glide?

Interested to hear folks opinions! Thanks in advance.

I'm 91kgs and have the 830 HPS for high winds and the ART 999 for mid winds, have the 1201 art pro for the light days.

If you want downwinders, a smaller HPS won't likely help. I'd recommend you pick up a used ART as the glide is incredibly fun and great at connecting bumps. Or you could go with the ART Pros.

My HPS is great at turning and jumping but likes to have some good power, the 999 is more forgiving but you will not turn as well, everything comes with a price.

Have fun!
