Hi,

I heard yesterday from my local shop that Sabfoil will come out shortly with a new stab : S430. It looks slightly smaller than the S425 (240cm2 vs 266 cm2).

Anyone has further details ? What's the reason behind it ? What will be the recommended front wing to pair it with ?

Mailed SABFoils last week about the staballizer.
"At the moment we do not have a precise release date, as soon as we have it we will update our site and you will be able to make the purchase."

As for the shape...think the 430 will be something different then the 484-425-370 range. Its already on the Sabfoil site and shows max stability in the specs. My gut feeling is that tips are up like the older 450 staballizer. (But thats a gut feeling)

Hello

Anyone knows if the S430 is directly compatible with the F647 fuselage. I am trying to make my W1110 / S399 combo a little easier in rough water. The S483 chord is too big it does not fit...

I used my 1110 with the 525 stab to make it a bit easier. The 425 is a bit too wide as well but if you make a shim of 2 layers of a creditcard to create a bit of space (cheapest option in more then one way ). it works really well. The 483 is almost like an anchor so that wouldnt be my option.

Sabfoil has already released the little brother of the S430 - the S380

It's not.

So only the 399 and other smaller kite stabs (less stable) are working with the FK647 ?

My only option would be to change to the Kraken Fuselage or put custom shims ?

@ Jeroensurf : you got a picture of your shims ?

When you say you are after easier control in rough water, are you seeking pitch stability? If yes, and you have not yet tried the S399 with a shim for more down-suck, then def try that first. I'd guess you'll start at 1.5 deg to pull the W1110 out of a dive. You need less help from the stabiliser with pitch control if the front foil surface is correctly sanded. If you want more roll+yaw stability, then try the S421 (no shim). But the W1110 is extremely roll-stiff, so the S421 might hurt your entry and exit in-out of carve turns. S430 looks interesting. I've not tried it. S430 is thin at only 7.5mm so prob quite fast, but the front-view shape makes it look extremely stable in yaw and roll, perhaps too much? I'm really liking the S399, with W1000 and W800.

Pitch would definetely help for straight runs , but mainly roll , especially for jibes

When I jibe it, I have a hard time to keep a smooth / constant turn when water is not flat . Often I tend to turn too sharp and risk of falling inside. so I release the pressure a bit, but then I start turning back in the other direction right away as it seems so sensititive.

And for straigth runs, I can manage, but damn it's so sensitive I have to stay always 100% focused.

I don't have this problem with the 950 and S399.

I am probably not at the same level as you guys. But the W1110 is so efficient, the hand wing feels so light when I use it, and I can upwind without any effort in the arms.

When I look at the web site info, there is only 4mm difference between the 2 (S399 and S430) . And the S399 has a pretty long tail to fit the end of the fuselage. Isn't the extra 4mm of the stab cord for the 430 toward the back (so with a smaller tail) so that the front fits the fuselage notch? Can anyone provide a measurement of the S430 between the center of the 1st screw to the front of the stab

Maybe the new S380 would fit and be more stable ? I would prefer not buying an old stab, I remain under the impression that there was further improvements for stabs recently.
